Great Site - Dont Follow the Club Website Directions

The site is well set out with each pitch spaciously positioned particularly the central "terraced pitches". Really well maintained, good wardens and as quiet a site as we have stayed upon. Accepting that we stayed term time the average age of camper was well in the free bus pass range. Excellent base with lovely walks on the doorstep, a decent pub just down the road and an excellent one "Lazy Trout" less than two miles away. The website route from the NW took a particularly convoluted route involving non-friendly roads which resulted in a losing of offside towing mirror. The return route plotted by reading a map was straight forward! As an aside there is a chippy van visiting site on a Saturday evening, be prepared to queue & have a late meal!!

Friendly Site

This is the second visit we have had this year. It is a lovely site with some great walks and places to visit locally. It is very well kept, the second visit we had was in October and the wardens were very keen to keep the areas clear of leaves.  As for the toilet block, it is completely spotless. I have never seen a cleaner one. Even my husband noticed and that is high praise indeed!

Perfect site as a base for exploring

This is our 3rd visit this year!! It's perfectly placed for exploring the Peak district. Good pitch size and immaculate site and toilet block. There is traffic noise from a main road directly outside the site but the location more than makes up for it.

Fantastic site

We had a lovely weekend at Blackshaw Moor. Great location, within a 5 minute drive of Tittesworth reservoir and a 4.5 mile circular walk. Also close to the Roaches, another fantastic walk. Very friendly wardens at the campsite and the cleanest toilet / shower block I have ever seen. Great site/area if you have dogs, the site even has a dog wash. Fish and chip van visited the site on Saturday night -fish lovely, chips terrible . Walking distance to a nice pub, although they are not dog friendly inside the pub.

Ideally situated for Peak District

We stayed here for the first time last week, but will be back! The park was clean & tidy as always, there are 2 loo blocks which are easily accessible from all parts of the site. There is a pleasant dog walking area (all dogs on a lead only, but this is not a problem as there are plenty of places nearby where energetic dogs can have their freedom).

Peak Stay

A lovely site, a variety of pitch positions, some in rows, some in cul de sacs. Very well kept and spotlessly clean. Good position for visiting the Peak District

Brilliant Site.

I have been many times and recently spent 2 weeks there. The site is exceptionally well kept, facilities are brilliant. I've known wardens Anthony and Sheila a while, they are great people, so helpful especially when one has a problem. Assistant Wardens Keith and Tracey Evans were a real breath of fresh air. Helpful, chatty and so industrious, I never saw them stand still. They are a credit to the caravan club. Places to go? The Roaches, Buxton, Longnor, Leek butter market, Tittersworth Reservoir, Rudyard Lake with fishing and a steam train. I could go on and on, all I can say is there is much to see and explore from this beautiful site. Must say I had no trouble at all with WiFi connection.
