Recent stay 19 -29 Oct 2016

A lovely site have stayed many times previously an hopefully many times again. The site is very well kept by the wardens and they are very friendly and helpful. The only negative comment and not really a problem is the lighting on the roadways. We stayed on a service pitch on the first terrace and a torch is needed after dark. Nevertheless a most enjoyable stay. The time passed far too quickly.

Lovely well kept site

Stayed here for nine nights Oct 24th to Nov 2nd. Site well laid out with two spotlessly kept toilet blocks, Wardens very friendly and great location for Leek, Buxton. Also a lot of historic information about the site being an old US army camp and later Polish soldier repatriation camp. Not a criticism but power bollards are a distance away from some pitches ( I only took a 15 metre lead with me and got caught out - my fault entirely but take a 25 metre lead and you will be fine). great site. Well done

Delightful

We have just returned from holiday and I cannot rate this site highly enough. Superb facilities, beautifully clean, warm and well maintained. the dog walk is superb, a path through woodland and even though dogs have to be kept on a lead, I would rate it as one of the best. The pitches are generous and well laid out. The wardens are extremely friendly. The shop has limited stock, which is understandable as Waitrose and other supermarkets are less than three miles away. The area is stunning with many opportunities for walking. Golfers must try and play both Leek Golf Club and Westwood Golf club where you will receive a really friendly welcome and have the chance to play two stunning courses at sensible prices.

Another great site

Good to have all pitches hard standing. Very little choice of pitch when we arrived so had to settle for one near the main road. Yes there is a lot of heavy traffic, but did not cause any problem, maybe as we are heavy sleepers! So don't let the noise put you off visiting this very smart and clean site.

Great site

We stayed on this site over Halloween Shelia and Anthony work really hard to keep the site to a very high standard they are an asset to the club, there was a problem with the gas supply to the toilet block but they worked really hard making sure everyone on site was made aware of the problem.  Shelia and Anthony work constantly out side emptying bins and collecting leaves Thank you for a great stay will return next season .

Great site for Alton towers

We stayed on this site for 3 nights as it was one of the nearest sites to Alton towers. It was about 30 minutes from the site. The site was clean and tidy and very quiet as we went mid week. The only downside for us was as soon as it went dark outside the site was very poorly lit to the point you couldn't see where the road was to walk on to the toilet block.

Great short stay

We stayed at this site for 2 nights on the way home from the Lakes. The site is well managed and in a good location for Peak District visiting. The facilities are clean and plentiful and the serviced pitches with own water is a good feature. Would list again if in the area.

Excellent

Having had a operation a few weeks ago we decided on a fully serviced pitch at a local site for our final trip of the year. I had mains water connections but at Blackshaw Moor the connection point was in between the two vans. My pipe didn't reach but the wardens came to my rescue loaning me his own water pipe and connecting piece to help me set up. All this took 3 visits in total so a big hearty thanks for all the support especially as I couldn't lift anything heavy. We had a great weekend and the site was perfect. Once again thanks
