Staffordshire Peaks

Lovely site ideally situated opposite the Roaches and with easy access to Leek and Buxton with Public Transport stopping virtually outside the gates. Nicely positioned and well kept what more can one ask.

Excellent site. Can be a bit noisy

The location and views from the site are magnificent. The pitches are good but some are difficult to get on to without a mover, and some slope away at the end. However this is a steep site so to be expected. The facilities and general site maintenance are a credit to the very helpful wardens. The only downsides are the busy main road at the back of some of the pitches and the motor bike scrambling which takes place in an adjacent field, although this was fairly short lived. Would definitely go again.

Excellent site.

This is a lovely site. It is very clean and spacious with friendly wardens. Very handy for walks on The Roaches and around Tittesworth Reservoir. And the Peak District is very close. I believe it can be noisy by the road but I was on the back of the site and it was very quiet. Had a very pleasant few days and would certainly go again. Had an excellent meal at the Three Horseshoes pub over the road from the site.

Super warden team !

The wardens and their colleagues work incredibly hard to keep this site in tip top shape with lots of little extra touches that are very much appreciated . The facilities blocks are kept immaculately clean. Thank you team for another great stay .

The Blackshaw Moor

This was my first time at this site, what a little gem and only 30 miles from home.. The warden was more than helpful went into great detail about the site and surrounding area This is a great site for walking,Tittesworth Resevoir is only a mile away with a great pub just up the road. There is some noise from the road during the day but quiet at night . Will be visiting the site again.

Loved the site but the road noise can be a bit much

This was our first outing of the year and our first visit to Blackshaw Moor. Really good location for walking. Particularly enjoyed our walk round Rudyard Lake and the pub recommended by the wardens was pleasant. TV worked well through the aerial plug in. Pitch we chose was spacious and the facilities were excellent. We had been told about the possibility of the road noise and so chose a pitch near the back. Unfortunately the road noise was still quite noticeable. As this was early spring we were in the van much of the time we were on site. The road might have been even more noticeable if we had wanted to sit out. Will certainly think about using this site again for some more walking.

Our second stay at Blackshaw

Lovely, friendly wardens and a lovely site not far from Leek. Big pitches divided by hedging and lovely views from the back pitches which are also quieter than near the road. The only problem I can think of is that if you are pitched near the road you won't get much sleep.

Nice site friendly staff .

A nice peaceful site very friendly and helpful Staff , Enjoyed some lovely walks in the area with the dogs especially up to the Roaches and around a lovely lake that was close by . We enjoyed visiting Leek on Market day, and lovely scenic drive to Bakewell only 20 mins away, we were lucky enough to go there on the day of the Farmers market which was excellent . Lots to do in the area we will definitely be going back :)

Easy to find rural gem

My second visit to this neat little site. We arrived on site at 1400 on Friday and were welcomed by friendly staff in the reception. There were many spaces available, a bonus as my caravan-reversing skills leave a little to be desired. I was with a group of four couples, so we were able to procure adjoining pitches. I was advised that if I had a problem with parking a member of staff would be there to give help, luckily not necessary. The toilet/shower block is easy to get to from all pitches. Immaculate as always, but I was surprised to see that the main lights appeared to be on all night. I noticed this because I was forced to spend the Saturday night using the facilities due to sickness. The dog- walking area has been extended and is nicely pathed with wood chip surfaces. There are numerous hostelries quite near to the site and picturesque walks nearby. Leek, the nearest town is a joy to visit, with numerous markets and smaller shops. My only gripe is the road noise which I did not notice on my first visit but was much more noticeable while on an adjoining pitch as I was this time. All the pitches seem relatively easy and there is a fine children's play area central to the site and not close to the main road. A nice area that I shall visit again.
