Another excellent Stay

Just completed another 10 night stay on Pitch 54, we found it better towards the top section of the site as no road noise as you find around the entrance. Dog walking excellent even in the rain the walk through the woods stays almost dry. So dogs return clean, even dog showers as you come off the walk. Nice kiddy playground all new flooring looks very safe and immaculate. Toilet blocks usual very high standard, wardens superb and display of baskets & planters a credit to a lot of hard work. Obviously I think highly of the site but tried to be constructive. Always had a great stay & will return. Good shopping in Leek, Waitrose, Sainsbury's,Morrisons, plus Market day. and very close to a beutiful reservoir for lovely walks with Cafe etc.

One of the best sites

Visited Blackshaw Moor for the first time as part of our annual summer tour. Have stayed at Buxton a few times, and thought we would try Blackshaw Moor for a change. What a find. Located a few miles outside Leek with access to plenty of good supermarkets for all your supplies. The site is located directly off the main road, and as has been mentioned there can be quite a bit of road noise. We didn't find it too bad as we live near a busy road at home. The site is sloping up the hill, and the farther up you get, the quieter. We pitched in one of the side groves which was quiet and with plenty of room. Wash block spotless as always on Club Sites. The wardens are first class and run a very tidy site. Very welcoming and happy to have a chat and pass on any ideas for local walks etc. Lots of walk leaflets available for a few pence. Definitely walk to Roaches on a clear day. The views are spectacular. Wifi is Gold and was the best service I have had on ANY Club site.

First time back for a long time

Visited June 2017. We had not used his site for many years and were pleasantly surprised by it. It is terraced up the side of a hill and is generally green and pleasant although a lot of pitches have no grass around them which we avoided. There is some road noise at the bottom of the site but the road is not overly busy and it was not a problem for us. There are three good size supermarkets in Leek so food is not a problem although Leek itself did not appear particularly attractive. The site is a good spot for touring that side of the Peak district and for pottery lovers who will find plenty to do in Stoke, although the city has certainly suffered a downturn in that trade. Wedgewood is a must though and the factory shops have some real bargains. The wardens were particularly friendly and helpful.

Brilliant short break weekend

First time to a caravan & motorhome site & only our second outing in our new motorhome. Brilliant site & made even better by the very friendly & helpful wardens. Arrived at 6pm Friday night & requested a pitch that would be suitable for my disabled husband, this was no problem at all. Exceptional helpful & got a pitch right next to the disabled shower/toilet & the pot washing area. The site it's self is on a hill, so pitches on different levels, all very private & extremely well kept. Nice walk around the edge for dogs & also a dog wash area. Kids pretty happy too, with the play area & shop selling sweets! Highlight had to be the chip van on Saturday evening, which incidentally parked right next to our van - so kids were the first in the queue & very nice they were too. Shame about the weather but you can't win them all. Will certainly use this site again.

Special

Absolutely love this site . The wardens (Sheila and Mike ) are amazing as are the deputy wardens too . Nothing is too much trouble for them . They always have a smile for you . They went the extra mile for our son who is Autistic and is in a wheelchair they really couldn't do enough for him . The site itself is very attractive and very well maintained. The toilet/shower blocks are immaculate. The grounds are well looked after and the wardens are always coming up with new ideas to improve the site . The pitches are well spaced out and as the site is tiered you have plenty of choice where to pitch up . You can order a morning paper , mobile chippy comes on Saturday and there is also a little shop . Would recommend this site every time and it will always be special to us . We stayed here with our first tourer and have been going back ever since .

difficult to get to !!

I have just spent the Bank Holiday weekend at this site ,been once before Easter 2015 so spent a bit of time in Buxton on the way there ,I was in the lower level opposite the reception so find the road to be noisy so beware of this I have only given it 1 tick for location as it,s not very easy to get to due to it being on steep twisty roads when I left this morning the weather was dire the journey home was horrendous due to it being foggy ,not the wardens fault but I wont be returning to this site ,as I'm a lone traveller I found it a difficult drive it's a lot of uphill land downhill so don't know what it's like towing a caravan as I've got a small camper

Great site in every way

We have visited many club sites but none better maintained than this. The warden team are doing an excellent job of maintaining and improving the site. Our dog loved the walk around the site through the trees and the dog wash provided on site. There is much to do and visit in the surrounding area including the towns of Leek, Ashbourne and Buxton. The walk around the nearby Tittesworth reservoir is not to be missed. Even the fish and chips from the mobile shop on Saturday were very good. We will definitely return.

Staffordshire Peaks

Lovely site ideally situated opposite the Roaches and with easy access to Leek and Buxton with Public Transport stopping virtually outside the gates. Nicely positioned and well kept what more can one ask.

Excellent site. Can be a bit noisy

The location and views from the site are magnificent. The pitches are good but some are difficult to get on to without a mover, and some slope away at the end. However this is a steep site so to be expected. The facilities and general site maintenance are a credit to the very helpful wardens. The only downsides are the busy main road at the back of some of the pitches and the motor bike scrambling which takes place in an adjacent field, although this was fairly short lived. Would definitely go again.
