We stayed here between the 2nd and 9th July in perfect weather and I can honestly say it is probably the best kept Club site we have ever stayed on. It was spotless in every respect. It is well terraced, with good sized pitches and is very much a compact site. It also has an interesting history, originally being a Polish resettlement camp between 1943 and (suprisingly) 1964.The wardens were very friendly and helpful and obviously took a pride in their work. We were surprised (as were a few others) at a comment made in the visitors book along the lines of a member was disappointed because the sound of a warden cutting the grass had disturbed him. He wanted the grass to be cut a time that was more convenient; presumably with a scythe as well.
It is well served by good local pubs and Leek and Buxton are within an easy drive.
It is certainly a site that we will return to.
Perfect for two
Excellent clean site as are all club sites, along with very friendly and helpful staff. This is a perfect location for exploring the southern half of the Peak District or chilling on site. We'll be staying here again without question and highly recommend Blackshaw Moor for couples especially

Superb site
We stayed here for a long weekend, and really didn't want to go home. The pitches are large, the facilities are immaculate and the nearby scenery is stunning. The site managers are very friendly and helpful, and they have done a lot of work on the site to make it beautiful - lots of bird houses, plants and features. I can't believe it's taken us so many years to discover this site - we'll definitely be back for a longer stay.

What can I say
This is one of the few sites I have stayed at where I felt compelled to write to head office, not with a letter of complaint but with one of praise. The wardens (all of them) on this site are just excellent making you extremely welcome and keeping it in a superb condition. I could not fault a thing, the pitches are well maintained, the toilet blocks superb, the cdp's kept extremely clean and even fabulous dog walk has bark chippings laid to help save you getting muddy if it is wet, but in any case you could always put pooch in the dog wash on site.
The wardens just do not seem to take a break and if they are not in the office, they will be found around the site planting flowers or just keeping it clean.
The site itself is very well laid out with many hedges marking out individual plots which are again superbly kept by the wardens.
For those of you interested in history, this used to be a military camp in WW2 and after the war provided housing for Polish immigrants who could not return to Poland at the end of thew war. There are several notice boards around providing information, and also a very useful handbook that is sold in the Warden's office.
As you can probably tell, I just cannot recommend this site enough.

Nice and quiet
Staff were great, and the location is really ideal for exploring the local area.
Views from the local pub/restuarant/spa are amazing, but unfortunately not dog friendly inside (can sit outside no problem)
5 min drive to a nice reserviour location, which was very busy the weekend we went.
Lovely and quiet on the pitch that we chose, and I think we will be back for a longer period next time
Facilities are great, as we have come to expect from the club, and the shop was well stocked
The best staff we have ever encountered!
We have just spent 3 nights here...having arrived on Friday afternoon with our new motorhome collected the day before...we have stayed previously but with a caravan...the gentleman who booked us in allowed us to park a little differently on the pitch and furnished us with a cone and a borrowed reg.no. on a wooden plaque...to put on our pitch when we were heading out for the day!
Nothing is ever to much trouble for all the staff...the site is immaculate and beautifully planted with an abundance of colour...the facilities are spotless...the dog walk is well maintained and they all go out of their way to continually check your having a pleasant stay...staff on site can make such a difference to your stay and when you are so warmly welcomed it makes it complete. Thank you...we will be back😊

Superb
Staff wonderful, couldn’t be more helpful.
Site; big pitches and tidy, level. Back away from road is best.
Locally; horseshoe hotel/pub/spa is 10 minutes walk and tried restaurant and spa. Brilliant. Never had a spa near and so great, first class. Food good too and not expensive
Lovely site
Had a great long weekend at Blackshaw Moor. The facilities are great and wardens helpful and friendly. There are lovely walks nearby and site is ideal for touring the Peak District. The plots are very generous size and well kept. Best plots are at the back of the site away from the main road.
Pleasant site
Stayed here for 2 nights a couple of weeks ago. I like the layout having the tiered effect and pitches are large. Love it that it has trees around so you can see the birds and the squirrels. No problems with the shower blocks and very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Within walking distance of the fabulous Roaches, thats a definite must climb, the views are stunning. I have to agree with the other comments about the road traffic at the bottom of the site, but further into the site you do forget it.

Delightful Site
Always enjoy staying at this site, nice location next to the Roaches rock formation, well run and clean facilities and friendly wardens, pitches large and generallyl flat, only downside is if you are pitched at the lower end of site adjacent to the road, the road noise can be quite loud, we were up the site away from the road and the noise can be loud at times, quite a few HGV`s use the road, dont let me put you off, we like the site and will return in the future.
