We arrived on the opening day of the site's 2019 season to find everything in excellent order. The grass and hedges had been cut and all the pitches where easily identifiable with clear numbering. The toilet and shower blocks were spotlessly clean and the reception and shop welcoming, warm and well stocked. The wardens were all very friendly and helpful and we look forward to our next visit. Would definitely recommend a visit here.
Fantastic site
First visit, had only been open for 3 hours when we arrived but greeted warmly by wardens who were busy but well organised and very helpful. This manner continued throughout our stay I do think I'd go as far as to say they are the most helpful friendly wardens I have encountered. The pitches were of good size and fairly level site facilities what you would expect of CC & MH site. Fish and chip van on site the Friday - very nice big flakes of white fish just as I like it. Lots to see and do in area. Would not hesitate to return
Brilliant well run site
Stayed for the second time in 2018. Nothing bad to share, everything good, wardens, pitches facilities all top class. They were even mowing the grass on the last day before it closed for Winter. Terrible shame this site does not stay open longer, even if they used a portion of the site and a single toilet/shower block. We would definitely use it. We will be back next year for sure
Stay 3/10 to 17/10
Stayed again this year, 4 years on the trot.Lovely site and very well looked after. How the wardens and their assistants manage to maintain the standards never ceases to amaze me. Surely this team set the standard for the whole club and other wardens should pay a visit. I hasten to add I have never stayed on a bad club site. Another very enjoyable stay and we hope to return soon.
PS I strongly disagree with the comments about the chip van Enjoyed them on 2 consecutive Saturdays.Very nice indded and not at all greasy.

Flagship site in my humble opinion!
I have given this site top marks and believe that wardens up and down the country should visit it and take example as to how a site should be. In my opinion, the level of customer service, the attention to detail with maintenance, the cleanliness of the whole site and enthusiasm of the current wardens should be applauded.
On the side of a hill, the site is terraced, surrounded by trees but not under tree cover, light and airy. Various small avenues to pitch on with ample room to negotiate position on each pitch. We chose the top of the site, furthest away from the main road in and our pitch was huge with low hedging to separate us from the next pitch. The hedging creates an element of privacy but doesn't isolate you at all from other campers.
Two toilet blocks, both equally clean and used respectfully by other clientele of the site.
Small play area next to toilet block in the top of the site. Dog walk around the edge of the site enables an early morning, last thing at night dog walk, safe and adequate.
Around the site there are various ornaments, gardenalia, flower beds and even a wormery.
I applaud this site also for keeping lighting at night to a minimum. Some sites feel the need to try and compete with Blackpool illuminations but this site, less was definitely appreciated but still very safe to walk around after dark although we always carry a torch. It meant the night sky, crystal clear full of stars was very visible and beautiful to see.
We loved this site and wish it could be lifted up and repositioned in the middle of a national park or country estate as alas, our only niggle but a niggle to make us not visit again, the A53. We walk everywhere when away and the only way to and from the site to the few walks available without a compass and O/S map is a slim pavement alongside this busy 50 mph speed limit road which is used by farm vehicles, commuters and HGV'S alike. No chance of a conversation without shouting above the road noise, goodness knows what fumes are being inhaled and when a juggernaut passes, well, the draft does move you. If you use a vehicle to get around the area then this would not be something to put you off the site but for us, it took the edge off what was a really nice few days away and THE reason we will not return.
Please please caravan club officialdom, use the standard of this site at all your sites and you cannot go far wrong.

Excellent site
Lovely, clean site. Front of site is on main road so can be quite noisy but didn’t disturb us during the night. Facitilies very clean. Chip van on site Saturday nights, was very greasy so wouldn’t have again if returning.

One night at Blackshaw Moor
It's a really lovely site, if you park near the front it's right by the road so there can be a bit of road noise although this didn't wake us up. Very clean and really nice staff, would visit again! We were there on Saturday so the chip van was on site between 1600-1800. The chap was really nice but the food really wasn't that great. Very, very greasy and pretty tasteless.

Another great stay
Just back from another great stay at Blackshaw Moor. The wardens obviously care about the site and keep it immaculate and to a high standard and are very hardworking lead by Anthony and Sheila who have a terrific sense of humour. This is their last season at Blackshaw Moor and they are moving on to the Firs. The Firs gain will be Blackshaw Moors loss

Good Standard Club Site
Tend to use CL's in the main but visited this site for the location and the mid-week discount. Great for walking and cycling. Wardens were hard working, visible out on the site every day. Helpful and there if needed but not intrusive. Enjoyed our stay thank you and happy to return in the future.

enjoyable stay
We stayed here with our son, daughter in law, and granddaughter. the site was very clean with an air of spaciousness. there was a lovely children's area which our granddaughter enjoyed, she is 3, plus a good dog walk which she also enjoyed taking the dogs through with me. the only criticism of the dog walk is that we were not allowed to take them off the lead, so not good as an exercising area, but there is plenty of good walking off site. a good plus is the delicious fish and chip van that comes to the site. there is also lots of information around the site regarding its history with Polish prisoners of war. the wardens were friendly and helpful and I would recommend this site to families. there is a reservoir nearby with a good walk around and a lovely café serving delicious meal.
