Illuminating Visit

This was our second visit to this site. We were not disappointed. Well kept site, friendly staff and easy access to M55 and the whole of the Fylde Coast.Site was pretty much full for all of our stay, it's popular. Some road noise but nothing too dramatic. Excellent facilities. There is even a visiting fish and chip van twice a week We'll be back.

Very helpful wardens and a good location and good facilities and a very good carvery nearby.

First visit to a club site

Our first visit to a club site , it was a very good experience. A very friendly greeting nothing to much trouble explained everything I needed to know. The map of the site was very useful. The pitches are a good size and the site well maintained. I would certainly book this site again , especially taking advantage of the mid week reductions. A very pleasant experience

Good Site , good location and a warm welcome

Having read previous reviews about this site we were very apprehensive about our visit so reduced our stay before hand to just 3 days, How wrong we were and has certainly taught us to go make your own mind up and ignore other peoples views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the site was clean as expected for any club sites, the wardens were very knowledgeable about the area, giving advice on transport etc and extremely friendly. So WELL DONE TO THE SITE STAFF we can't shout their praises enough, we just wished we had gone earlier to the site now

A lovely stay at Blackpool South.

I came onto the internet to review the site of Blackpool South as we have just had a lovely couple of days there, never having been before. I read the review that came up on the site and could not believe my eyes. Surely we are reviewing the site not the staff. Any problem with the staff should have been discussed with them or the Caravan Club. We were met on arrival by incredibly friendly helpful staff and the entire time we were there saw staff hard at work cleaning, tidying, gardening, dealing with arrivals and departures etc. According to what it says on the door they start work at 8.30am, what time do people expect them to work until? It says in the handbook that the site does not have a Late Night Arrivals Area and there are no arrivals after 8pm. It is up to members to give themselves enough time to arrive and to have contingency plans just in case of traffic etc. I think this review is very unfair on hardworking staff and sometimes people need to put themselves in the place of the staff who have been working long hours dealing with and making the surroundings clean and tidy for the members .... and no I am not related to the staff at Blackpool South! It is a lovely site and very handy for the illuminations and other tourist attractions. We will certainly be back. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Staff aused extreme anxiety!

We stayed at this site over the weekend as we took our two young children (one aged two and one aged four) to see the Blackpool illuminations. We travelled up on a Friday night and allowed five hours for what should be a two hour journey. In spite of this we were delayed in traffic and were worried about arriving after the 8 PM cut-off. Upon ringing the site we were advised that we need to make alternative arrangements as staff left promptly and any arrivals after their departure could not, under any circumstances, gain entry to the site. I understand that rules are there to protect all parties but under such circumstances we were astounded at this response. I spent the majority of the journey suffering with extreme anxiety in the panic that we would not be able to gain access to the site. We were not familiar with the Blackpool area and so could not make alternative arrangements as suggested. I became increasingly worried for our children and their safety at the prospect of not being able to pitch that evening. Fortunately we arrived at the site at 8:23 PM. In attempting to ring the site at 7:50 PM to advise them that The satnav was telling us that we would be there at 8:20 I was met with a very rude man who advised me that there had been further accidents that I was an aware off and I was therefore likely to encounter further delays. Thankfully we gained entry to the site and I was close to tears due to relief! Staff were very uncaring and dismissive about our predicament. Ironically we were not the only ones to arrive past the deadline. I would not recommend this site to anyone with a family under any circumstances and myself and my family will not be staying here again! What a horrendous experience that could have easily been avoided with friendly customer service.

Comment from the Club

We are very sorry that you were delayed in traffic on your way to stay at Blackpool South. The site staff are only able to work a certain amount of hours in each working day as the Club has a duty of care to staff. As such we make it very clear to members the arrival times on site. We completely understand there will be incidences where there are delays and will always do our utmost to assist in these cases but can’t always guarantee this. We are glad that on this occasion you were able to access the site and we appreciate the staff working later to ensure this. Please note, access to the site would normally be no later than 8pm and the site staff made an exception on this occasion due to the delays members were experiencing because of heavy traffic on the M55 due to the Illuminations and World Firework Championships. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday and thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, which has been also sent to the Regional Manager for his reference.

One of our favourite sites

It's easy to reach for us the wardens are brilliant nothing too much trouble,the site is like it's own community, friendly play area for children just needs a little TLC LOVE IT

A lovely stay

A great weeks stay. Lovely and quiet with clean and plenty of facilities. Wardens were very friendly and helpful. I had read some poor reviews prior to my arrival so my expectations were limited. Yes the site has pot holes but what site doesn't. Its very well maintained for such a busy site and the wardens are visible on site every day cutting the grass and looking after the pitches. My only negative is the locality to main centre of Blackpool. Its listed as Blackpool South so was expecting it a little nearer to the Pleasure beach end of the centre but its still a good 4+miles from the start of the Prom.

Excellent site

We booked initially for 5 days and ended up staying for 15 days. All of the wardens were a delight to deal with, nothing was too much trouble for any of them and they all made us feel at home. The site was beautifully presented with lots of lovely flowers and was always spotlessly clean in all areas. We would have no hesitation in returning and as we had had a 10 year break from motorhoming due to family commitments, we felt like we had never been away from it. Big thank you to you all and we will be back!!!!

great site

This is a great site for a visit to blackpool the warden was great on arrival very clean good internett . Often come here if i can twice a year love the easy accsess to site only real problem i have is that it is not open all year round as blackpool never sleeps. Thankyou
