Return visiit.

Glad some of the pot holes on the approach lane have been filled since spring. Lovely quiet site. Friendly wardens. Looking forward to seeing what the club does there this winter. No doubt the new wash block will be good. Hope to be able to get wifi next year.

We love Black Knowl due to its location and things to do around the area. It is perfect for cycling, riding and walking. The Wardens are always around and very willing to help everyone. My only complaint is the refurbishment means the round toilet block is being knocked down. I will still go again next September.

Black Knowle again

Location is perfect. I appreciate that the facilities are to be redeveloped at the end of the season but this is several seasons overdue. I have to say I thought the facilities were actually better than last year, it's surprising what new shower heads and some new sealant can do, all credit to the current Wardens for this, well done. I agree with other comments that the site is expensive considering the state of the facilities, perhaps the CC Club should consider reducing fees at sites where the facilities leave something to be desired as I'm sure they will be increased once the new facilities are installed. Notwithstanding the state of the facilities we had a fantastic time on site helped by the weather in September which has been great, the Wardens were also extremely helpful.

expensive is the biggest issue

the sad thing about this site is that is expensive. although the toilet and showers are old, they are always kept clean by the wardens, it is a shame that some selfish people use the shower rooms as a toilet and leave them smelly for when people want a shower - when there are other toilets to use! also shame on those that use the showers to wash their dogs! all the wardens there at the moment are lovely and friendly (not like the head wardens last year)! and as i have already mentioned they do try to keep the showers and toilets clean. the campsite is always looking nice - the wardens do a good job. i really do enjoy staying on this site.

Very Expensive

We have been going to Black Knowledge for over 5 years and have just returned after a 10 day stay. What a disappointment. It is unbelievable that the Caravan Club can increase the fees this year when the state of the toilet block being so bad. The first problem you face is trying to get your keys to open the doors and often we just gave up and used our own caravan facilities. If you are able to gain access you find that the showers just drip with no water pressure, the toilets don't flush and several of them had no lighting when it was dark. I appreciate that the site is due a long awaited upgrade but find it quite unacceptable for the Caravan Club to increase the fees by £60  compared with last year for our 10 day stay. No wonder the bookings this Last Bank holiday were well done compared with previous years. We have been members for 15 years and feel really let down that we have been ripped off on this occasion.

We have been visiting the site for many years.we are aware that the toilet block is having a full makeover. so we we expected them not to be very good.but there was no water pressure the showers so run down. I myself looked at them one morning and to be honest it was like showering in a run down shed at the bottom of someone,s garden. I don't know how the Caravan Club dare put up the Price this year. Please don't think this is only my thoughts, I was made aware of the charges talking to other people on the site.

one night in september

Rather expensive compared to other sites. Dogs galore, lots of barking first thing. Watched one camper leave dog poo on the grass near our pitch and not clear up. Sadly, kids cycling around at high speed, wearing no protecive helmets. This should be a must on these sites. Good location, but few facilities.

Just wow!!

What a fabulous place to spend time relaxing. Situated within a wonderful setting slap bang in the middle of the Forest surrounded by wildlife, woodland, streams and pathways. As a dog owner this is a perfect site as the worlds biggest dog walk is right outside the gate. Very handy for visiting local attractions or a trip to the Isle of Wight with many local towns within a 15 minute drive. I really can't think of anything negative to say, oh apart from that tonight is our last night onsite and I will be gutted to leave.  Loved the toilet block by the way. To many bog snobs about I think!!!

September Stay

This is a lovely site; the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The only downside is the toilet and shower block this needs knocking down and rebuilding - it lets the whole site down

End of summer stay

A good site with access to forest walks/cycle rides from the front of the site! Very friendly staff, we ordered the paper, when we collected it we purchased the croissants and bread for breakfast, excellent service.
