what a gem

have just returned from a 7 night stay at Black Knowl and have been very impressed with the refurb and overall excellence of the site. The facilities are clean and well kept (granted they are brand new) and there are indications that there are more to come. The wardens very helpful and friendly. The location for us is excellent as you can reach a range of activities easily whilst still being remote enough to enjoy peace and quiet. Only let down was the Wednesday night fish and chips, we will definitely be returning to Black Knowl in the future-as soon as we can find availability!

super holiday with reservations

Excellent site with superb facilities. Sad to say this must be the worst site for speeding that we have ever visited. So many children on bikes enjoying themselves and keeping to correct direction. Surprised to say many speeding cars driven by young ladies. Barking dogs and owners who think its ok for my dog to play without lead. And yes I do have young grandchildren, dogs and a car that can do 5mph. Regardless we had a great time

Beautiful and peaceful

This was our second visit to the site. The refurbishment of the toilet/shower facilities are lovely. A site in a beautiful location, right in the middle of the forest, easy access to Brockenhurst on foot or bike, lots of lovely walking. No play equipment for children, but they have a great expanse of open forest right outside the gate to make their own entertainment. Definitely worth a stay, if you can get a booking onto the site, as very popular. Lovely local shops in Brockenhurst for food and eateries.

Good location

Our first visit to this site and well worth it - immediate access to all the delights of the Forest and close proximity to various other attractions, including the Isle of Wight! Very helpful Wardens and a quaint block soon to be demolished and replaced. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Lovely site.

Lovely site in the forest. The facilities are now being updated as the site is now owned by the Club.  For many years the wardens have kept these facilities clean and functioning- well done to all of them! We look forward to visiting this site with its new facilities next year.

Fabulous!

This site is in an amazing position - right in the middle of the New Forest, with ponies, cows, deer, etc, just outside the gate. You can walk to Brockenhurst from the site and if your intention is to enjoy walking or cycling, you wouldn't need to use your car at all. As others have said, the toilet block is being updated for 2017, which will be a great improvement for the site. The approach road is ok but is narrow and there are five huge speed bumps - which managed to catch my jockey wheel or the underside of the chassis on both entry and exit, despite my slow speed. But none of that detracted from our enjoyment of a fabulous site. Highly recommended; I will definitely be returning.

First site booking with the CC

Returning from an excellent tour of Scotland using the 'friendly club' we decided to join the 'other club'. This was long overdue having been on our to do list for some time. What a nice site with superb staff. My wife and I were made to feel very welcome both at the site and to the club. Superb location if like us you enjoy forest walks. The site itself is well organised and doesn't feel too regimented. Will definitely recommend this site and return but only during term time.

Stunning Site

Just returned home from a very enjoyable short stay in the New Forest. This site is in a stunning location and we probably saw it at it's best, Autumn colours were just beautiful. The site itself is lovely and wardens, as ever, are great. We were informed by wardens that when the site closes this year, the toilet block will be updated. I have to say, not a moment too soon! After using the showers once, decided my own facilities were far more user friendly. This in no way spoilt the experience though and I expect it will be even harder to book a pitch in future.  I look forward to trying!

Best site so far

This site is my perfect site, the New Forest is right outside the gate and off we all go, dog heaven and apart from getting lost (my fault) the stay was totally perfect. I understand that work is about to start on a new facilities block this November, wow, I will need to book up early next year for this site, my favourite so far. The staff at this site are fabulous, they take care to ensure that you are happy and know what you can do locally, I am looking forward to seeing them again and also see the wild flowers they have so carefully planted. Ponies, Cows, Dogs, Deer and wide open spaces separated with ranges of beautiful trees, what can I say - Absolutely Wonderful, in fact I need to rewrite this review it is too good and they may get too busy for us to get in. Highly recommended.
