Lovely, quiet site

This site is so lovely and quiet, the facilities are spotless and the showers nice and hot! Individual shower/wash rooms are a nice bonus too! Not quite walking distance to local shops/restaurants but a short drive/bike ride. Friendly, helpful staff as always at CC sites. We'll definitely be back!

5 nights at Black Knowle

Black Knowle has always been a favourite site of ours. Delighted that the Caravan Club has purchased the site and intend to make major improvements during the early part of 2017. This is superb location and such a peaceful site. The only down side is the members who do not observe the advice of the caravan club and arrive at 11.20am whilst members are leaving with their outfits. The road just does not accommodate 2 passing outfits. Members arriving early as just being so selfish.

Lovely Place

We stayed at this site for the first time this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely be returning. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for exploring the forest. Although the toilet facilities are tired they were kept clean and the showers were hot. Overall very happy.

Nice place

We've been to this site about 4 times. It's in a good location, especially if you have bikes.  I used to really like the private shower rooms, unfortunately they're being demolished and replaced by a generic toilet block.

Location, location, location

Much has been said about the facilities, yes they are well passed their sell by date and planning has been granted for the new block, so nothing more to be said.  This must be one of the top five club site locations, where else can you walk out of the gate and watch the red deer? Lots of great walks around and Brockenhurst is a short stroll. Be sure to visit the bakers in the village you will never buy supermarket bread and cakes again.

Nice stop

Stopped off here on our way home and the site is very nice, right in the middle of the new forest. Normal nice welcome and plenty of pitches to choose from, but I would imagine this stie gets super stacked in the summer. The toilet/shower facilities are naff, but I believe these are being updated, but if you like clean modern facilities I would wait until they are done. Brockenhurst is a 20 minute walk away, and for us with a dog it was a good place to stay.

Excellent wardens

The warden were more thank excellent, very friendly and helpful, it is a shame about the facilities but the wardens tried as hard as humanly possible to keep the facilities in order. We will be back next year.

Yorkshire visitors

A beautiful secluded site yet a pleasant walk to the nearest hotel for food and beers. The warden was absolutely lovely and helpful. It was a nice change to come across someone with an organised but relaxed attitude. We did not have a problem with the facilities. Although they showed signs of age, we liked the privacy that having your own loo, shower and basin they provided. I hadn't visited the New Forest before, but I would love to return. The combination of trees and huge open spaces made the Cotswolds appear rather twee in comparison.

Dreadful disabled facilities

A site where location sells it to everyone, but why have the CC allowed the facilities to deteriorate so badly? I appreciate that the toilet block is due for refurb but in the meantime it has been allowed to rot. This is a top-dollar site so there is no excuse for this. The disabled bathroom is a disgrace. There is no seat apart from a lidless toilet and a fixed seat INSIDE the shower. The water pressure would put a 5 year old to shame and even on MAX the temperature just managed 'tepid'. The showerhead has a permanent droop making it useless. Water spreads across the entire floor and the mirror is OK if you are a dwarf. What is the point of giving visitors a bathroom key? - most of the bathrooms have no locks anyway! This is always a pleasure to visit due to the unbeatable location but the club are sadly remiss in allowing the facilities to fall so low. Shame on whoever is responsible. BTW, avoid school holidays if you want some peace and quiet.

Black Knowl - time for change

We love Black Knowl we have been visiting the site for over 20 years ago and still love it.  However we no longer love the washroom facilities.  When we first started staying at Black Knowl they were innovative and great for families and individuals.  They are now becoming unfit for purpose and need undating soon!
