Great location , friendly staff. Building works to create new reception did not interfere at all. Facilities kept very clean. We stayed for 5 days in early May enjoying some relaxation but also found the site ideal for some great days out. We had an excellent , good value meal at the Black Horse pub which is within walking distance of site. The bus stop near the site has frequent service to either Canterbury or Folkestone . We drove to Dover on one day, parked car and took bikes over to Calais on one day, parked car and took bikes over to Calais on the ferry for a fabulous birthday meal. Getting through the port on bikes wasn't too difficult but you do need to find the elusive bike lanes to avoid traffic.
All together a very pleasant stay
Useless signage, unhelpful staff
Beware approaching the site- the instructions on the email were not great, and we ended up following the signs to a certificated site, down a very narrow road, yes daft of us I suspect. Thank goodness we met nothing coming the other way. When I told the lady on the reception desk, it seemed this was a common occurrence. Please CC, can you put up better signage?
On checking in, I asked how far it was to the tunnel, and how long it might take at 8am. She said, it's all on the back of the site leaflet. When I read the leaflet later, it didn't say either thing. My husband went back to ask her and she said 'it's all on the leaflet'. When he pointed out that it was not he asked her again, how far to the tunnel and the likely time to get there at rush hour. She said she didn't know. When he asked for further help, she said 'why don't you phone Eurotunnel?'.
Come on Caravan club, you should be able to tell first timers to the site this info, surely. She was totally unhelpful and didn't seem to care.

Great for eurotunnel or ferry crossing
Greeting was great as always with club sites .excellent facilities spotlessly clean all topped off by its perfect location for the tunnel
In the tropics as you book in!
Please get the wardens an air conditioner for reception. In the recent hot weather the poor wardens were working in over 30*s temperature! Not able to open windows because they cannot hear the phones ring. Not good for club members booking in either. Nice site and handy for Chanel crossings.
Good site
Good site, wardens and location. Nice to have a great little shop just over the road. Wonderful Bluebells in the nearby extensive Reinden Woods within a few hundred yards. Site does not have much character but good size pitches and level. Construction work did not bother us. Pub down the road looked OK for a meal although we just went for a drink.
BIRTHDAY TREAT
We have stayed at the Black Horse site before. The meet and greet was excellent and a clear explanation given to the space availability. Having been before it was easy to choose.
There is work going on but that did not distract from the excellent time that we had. Even the loss of a barrier key (swallowed by our car-ugh) was handled very well.
We went out for a birthday meal in one of the local restaurants -- great meal.
Overal an excellent break, and a great site.
Great Stay
We were visiting relatives in East Kent and it wasn’t possible to stay with them so we booked into Black Horse Farm.
We were made welcome and the staff were very helpful as we were fairly new to motor-homing.
We had a great stay all round and will be going back again.
Nigel and Carol
Enjoyable (2nd) stay.
We stayed last week for 6 nights, the construction work taking place didn't bother us at all, our pitch was towards the far end of the site so not too far to the (spotless) working toilet block, We had a very peaceful stay, the pitch was large and level, we enjoyed watching the wildlife. It was an ideal base to visit the many attraction in and around Dover. The wardens were friendly and informative, the electricity was due to be out on the Tuesday, but again not a problem as we had be told when we booked in. We will go back again in the future!

Not up to par during building works
As a very frequent visitor ( up to 12 visits between 1 and 3 days per year) we are fully aware of what the site has to offer. During the current building works despite not leaving site for early ferries we have been located at the most extreme points from the only toilet block in use and yet many much closer pitches remain unfilled. This has made life difficult for my wife who has walking difficulties and puts us in mind of the availability of a local CL for considerably less cost , with in effect, similar facilities. Things must get better as the prospect of the work being finished on schedule looks doubtful.
Next visit scheduled for early June with a newly enrolled member who I hope will see a fully functioning better organised site by then!!!

Great for the ferry to France
I have stayed here about three or four times just for one night either going to France next morning or carrying on to where I store my caravan. Always found the place quiet, clean and the reception very friendly and efficient.
