1st visit

First time we have used the site prior to catching the ferry. A great location and very friendly welcome. The facilities are excellent and although people had left very early there was no noise. We will definitely use this site again

Great ferry pitch

Stayed here for one night on a ferry pitch. We were arriving late after the reception was closed so phoned ahead for access details etc. Upon arrival collected pitch details and accessed our pitch without issue. Toilet and shower facilities are up to the usual CAMC standards (e.g. very good). Just a quick word about the lady on reception (sorry didn't get your name). This was the first time we'd used a ferry pitch and with arriving late was a little apprehensive. I phoned a few times prior to our arrival and always had my concerns / questions addressed in a helpful manner, thank you. Would definitely recommend this site.

Excellent Site

Stayed here for 4 nights. Arrival was easy and staff very friendly. Great location with the added bonus of Spitfires flying over regularly. Clean and well organised. Excellent dog walk and plenty of footpaths around if required. Facilities looking a little tired in places but still always clean. Staff were excellent. Cheerful, friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

One night ferry site

Stayed here 31/07/19 on a ferry pitch. Excellent welcome from the staff, very friendly. Even though the site has been renovated in recent years the toilet/shower facilities are showing signs of wear. The site is obviously very busy. I can recommend the chippy in Hawkinge, (Hawkinge Fish bar). If you book on a ferry pitch you can't expect peace and quiet but in any event we slept well until we left for an early ferry. As a comment and not a complaint using the ferry pitches is like being on a hardstanding car park but I wouldn't expect any difference and the easy access to the ferries and tunnel obviously make the ferry pitches very popular.

Top Platz

Great site, great site.. be aware some phone networks dont work

Great site, staff friendly and helpful Local attractions good and Battle of Britain Memorial and museum a must see Dog walk on site is great, a good size in woodland and theres a dog walk in fields, go out gate turn right hole in hedge next to bus stop. Pub across the road . Be aware that our 3 network phone didnt pick up a signal around that area so you will need to access club wifi. I wonder if its a site that could do with a‘hotspot’ . Saw some comments about road noise we didn’t hear a thing its a calm peaceful site with lots of trees. Also saw comments in the visitors book about kids on bikes being dangerous, please no more signs on cmc sites there’s quite enough, best thing is drive slowly around site and let the kids have fun! Will definitely return there

Fabulous Site

We booked this site because we wanted somewhere fairly close to home but far enough away to feel away. We were delighted with the layout, the welcome we received, the cleanliness and tidiness and the location. With a shop just over the road and a Lidl very close by our needs were adequately catered for. Plenty to do in the area, we visited the Battle of Britain Memorial Site which we thought was beautiful and tranquil. Pay and display to park but not expensive, then the grounds and gardens are free to road with your dog (on a lead). My husband took the grandson into the Scramble Experience which the little boy loved - lots of buttons to press and screens to activate. Also very close to Folkestone beach and harbour arm, Samphire Hoe and Dover Castle and harbour. We will be back again and again I am sure.

Ideal for ferries

This was our first visit to the site before travelling abroad. Wardens were very welcoming and friendly and we were allocated a pitch which allowed us easy access to leave early in the morning for our ferry. Facilities were always clean and to usual Caravan club standards. We visited Canterbury while we were there and it is very easy to access by bus from outside the site. Well worth a visit. We had a relaxing stay at the site and will return in the future

Excellent site for trips to both Canterbury and Folkestone

We found this an excellent site with really helpful wardens and all the facilities kept very clean. We note that there have been adverse comments about the facilities but unfortunately it is the people staying on the site that are responsible for it not the wardens. For example , washing up sinks blocked by waste food mid evening !This is an ideal site as it's on a bus route and has connections to many on the Kent coast. As we enjoyed it so much we will be coming back

Ferry pitch

A fantastic welcome from the wardens, toilets near reception clean but starting to look dated. Allocated a hard standing ferry pitch but VERY disappointed to have to use levelling ramp to get our caravan level, how can a new hard standing pitch (come to think of it ANY hard standing pitch) need ramps to get level across the axle? It is just a sign or poor (or cheap) workmanship. Makes a quick and quiet early morning get-a-way very difficult.
