We stayed here on the last leg on our two week holiday. It was very tidy, clean and welcoming . Staff were friendly . Liked the fact that there was an enclosed dog walk where they could run free. Site was quiet but being near end of September not many families. We were split for choice in the local area of where to visit. We went to Dover Castle which was amazing and the underground tunnels tour is a must if you visit. We have a motorhome and parking was fine at the Castle . We then went to the White Cliffs of Dover and the views were amazing and we could even see France as it was a clear day. We had planned to go to Deal Castle and the Hornby Experience but due to illness had to leave a day early. Will be coming back to this site as it’s location is excellent for site seeing. There were a lot of overnight caravans and motorhomes etc due to location near Dover but we were not affected by people’s earlier departure for ferries as previous reviewers have commented .
Good site for short stays and crossings
Very tidy and well laid out level site. Lots of space, grounds and facilities well kept. I used a tent pitch (right by one toiled block) which was great. However, the welcome on site was not as normal. I was staying just the one night, with a one-man text, but I seemed to be doubted about my booking (of weeks earlier) and whether I was actually a member etc and showing my card did not seem to help. I did say that I usually have a caravan in tow, but on this occasion was picking up family members from a boat, hence one night and the tent.
Many units on site were from the continent so it was great to talk to a few of them. I noticed most new/newish caravans and motorhomes were from the UK, whereas the older (up to 50 years) were from overseas. (Perhaps due to warmer/drier climate?)
Great little shop across the road with great owner. Lucky for me they did hot drinks too (freshly made) since I did not want to take a cooker/kettle etc. Lots of other hot/cold food too including sandwiches which the warden said that the shop did not do. Pub just 100m away
I would stay again (day or two) if a need to travel to France etc or if touring the region.
Great location.
We stayed here for a week in early September and really enjoyed the area. There’s plenty to do and see all within 30 minutes drive. The site itself has a high turnover of customers due to its convenience for Dover so there can quite a bit of on site traffic around 6.00am. There weren’t too many pitches available so we ended up underneath some trees which makes the pitch a bit dark and shady. Great in a heat wave but not so good in late summer. Perhaps some of the trees should be removed to provide a bit more light? The shower facilities were always clean and up to the usual club standards. Perhaps the easiest access to any site I’ve yet to visit, no narrow lanes to negotiate!

Not Your Normal Site but Great at What It Provides
Firstly, I want to emphasise the reception staff, site facilities; although, now getting a little tired, overall maintenance and appearance of the site were exactly what we know and love about C&MC Club sites; they are to a high standard. The site dog walk, excellent local pub just across the road and the abundance of things to do in the local area all add to the appeal of the site. However; this site, and its proximity to the channel ports gives it a unique role, as an overnight transit facility to those members going to and from Europe. Knowing very little about the site but wanting to explore the area we booked a weeks break in early Sept. On arrival it was recommended that we pitch in the “quiet” area of the site by the lower facilities block, which we did. Even so, the departure of members to catch early channel crossings, who had parked in adjacent pitches, meant an amount of unwelcome noise and activity from around 05.00 onwards. No one deliberately made excessive noise and I do believe all tried to consider other members, but its just not possible to pack-up, start the vehicle engine and get away silently so for me a holiday lay-in was out of the question. So, would we stay for a week again – “unlikely”, would we use the site before a channel crossing – “most definitely”.
1st visit
First time we have used the site prior to catching the ferry. A great location and very friendly welcome. The facilities are excellent and although people had left very early there was no noise.
We will definitely use this site again
Great ferry pitch
Stayed here for one night on a ferry pitch. We were arriving late after the reception was closed so phoned ahead for access details etc. Upon arrival collected pitch details and accessed our pitch without issue.
Toilet and shower facilities are up to the usual CAMC standards (e.g. very good).
Just a quick word about the lady on reception (sorry didn't get your name). This was the first time we'd used a ferry pitch and with arriving late was a little apprehensive. I phoned a few times prior to our arrival and always had my concerns / questions addressed in a helpful manner, thank you.
Would definitely recommend this site.
Excellent Site
Stayed here for 4 nights. Arrival was easy and staff very friendly. Great location with the added bonus of Spitfires flying over regularly. Clean and well organised. Excellent dog walk and plenty of footpaths around if required. Facilities looking a little tired in places but still always clean. Staff were excellent. Cheerful, friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
One night ferry site
Stayed here 31/07/19 on a ferry pitch. Excellent welcome from the staff, very friendly. Even though the site has been renovated in recent years the toilet/shower facilities are showing signs of wear. The site is obviously very busy. I can recommend the chippy in Hawkinge, (Hawkinge Fish bar). If you book on a ferry pitch you can't expect peace and quiet but in any event we slept well until we left for an early ferry. As a comment and not a complaint using the ferry pitches is like being on a hardstanding car park but I wouldn't expect any difference and the easy access to the ferries and tunnel obviously make the ferry pitches very popular.
Top Platz

Great site, great site.. be aware some phone networks dont work
Great site, staff friendly and helpful
Local attractions good and Battle of Britain Memorial and museum a must see
Dog walk on site is great, a good size in woodland and theres a dog walk in fields, go out gate turn right hole in hedge next to bus stop. Pub across the road .
Be aware that our 3 network phone didnt pick up a signal around that area so you will need to access club wifi. I wonder if its a site that could do with a‘hotspot’ .
Saw some comments about road noise we didn’t hear a thing its a calm peaceful site with lots of trees.
Also saw comments in the visitors book about kids on bikes being dangerous, please no more signs on cmc sites there’s quite enough, best thing is drive slowly around site and let the kids have fun!
Will definitely return there
