Great site

What a little gem. Site is very well maintained. Lovely couple who run it, very knowledgeable and helpful. Convenience store just outside main gate and only a short drive to Sainsbury's. Booked here as it is close to Euro tunnel, 15 minutes away. Also, like the fresh herbs growing round back of shower block

What an amazing find......

Booked this campsite for 1 night to test the new motorhome out, and what a pleasant surprise a tad worried seeing it was a main very busy road but the site it self was very peaceful, and felt very secure. And such a very warm friendly welcome, great layout and very clean facilities 2 shower and toilet blocks, (husband loved the showers, he was very impressed). though there is a small but adequate dog walking facility plenty of places to walk dog off site, little post office opposite the site for milk and stuff and a dog friendly pub down the road offering some yummy food. and there is even a bus stop outside not sure of what buses run, but I am sure they have information in the office. this is a great little site even just for a stop over on the way to France or a long weekend or family getaway I would recommend thank you and we shall be back soon.

January 2020 Mid Week Treat

Just returned today from a few days away in our Motorhome at this excellent site. We received a very warm welcome from the reception staff. Site Facilities were spotlessly clean (We even saw the dustbins being washed!) and the shower block was very well heated. And even better (for us) the site is on the 16Gold bus route, towards Hythe/Folkestone or Canterbury, with stops just a few metres away from the entrance. Such an easy outing for us and will definitely return.

Excellent site

First class site made even better by the very friendly and helpful staff. The whole site is immaculate and the facilities are clean and well kept. Great dog walking both on and off site. The superb No 16 bus service makes travel to both Canterbury and Folkestone much easier than driving and parking. There is a friendly well stocked convenience store across the road and The Black Horse pub is friendly as well as serving excellent food. We thoroughly recommend this site.

Nice site with good facilities

Nice site, with info centre, and reception did 'drinks & nibbles' for New Year. No shop - but general stores just opposite. Facilities pretty good, especially at far end of site. Good hard standing pitches. Black Horse pub in Densole, nicely restored old pub. General stores and off licence opposite site. Good walks across fields and around Reinden Woods. Walks past Ridge Fm get a bit scrappy and paths lost.

Nice quiet stay between Xmas and New Year

Stayed for two nights between Xmas and New Year, on a short tour of the Kent coastline; our first stay on a CAMC site!

Very well located for visiting Dover Castle (a great day out, and no queues in low season!) and nearby coastal towns/beaches. The site is great, facilities excellent and very clean, as expected. The showers in particular were very nice - proper showers, not push buttons! The site was quiet due to the time of year but pitches well spaced and level.

Did note that the light levels overnight are quite high, with site roads being lit and every hookup point having a light on top which burned all night. This may be standard for CAMC sites but feels a bit wasteful (I doubt that any CAMC member won't have at least one torch!). Good blackout blinds are essential if you like to sleep in the dark. A very minor point for a great site though.

Very quiet in November!

We stayed on this site in November, so it was very quiet with very little traffic of any sort. The facilities (toilet blocks/showers etc) were up to the usual Club standard and its only a short walk from any pitch to one block or the other. The nearby garden centre has a restaurant which offers good value food, even 2 for 1 on weekday breakfasts. Well worth a try. Be warned that there is no Mobile phone coverage on the Three Network on this site. It’s not poor, it is non-existent. Because of this I braved the site wifi. This was just as unhappy an experience as it was 5 years ago when I first tried to use it at a Club site. If this is a “gold” wifi site then I hate to think how bad a “bronze” site is.

Excellent week

Had an excellent week on the site. Plenty to see in the area, visited National Trust and English Heritage sites, walked along the coastal paths and promenades. Plenty to see in the area and took a day trip to France. Well done to the wardens for the excellent facilities and for being so helpful when our fridge stopped working half way through the holiday.

Lovely site very clean

We stayed here on the last leg on our two week holiday. It was very tidy, clean and welcoming . Staff were friendly . Liked the fact that there was an enclosed dog walk where they could run free. Site was quiet but being near end of September not many families. We were split for choice in the local area of where to visit. We went to Dover Castle which was amazing and the underground tunnels tour is a must if you visit. We have a motorhome and parking was fine at the Castle . We then went to the White Cliffs of Dover and the views were amazing and we could even see France as it was a clear day. We had planned to go to Deal Castle and the Hornby Experience but due to illness had to leave a day early. Will be coming back to this site as it’s location is excellent for site seeing. There were a lot of overnight caravans and motorhomes etc due to location near Dover but we were not affected by people’s earlier departure for ferries as previous reviewers have commented .

Good site for short stays and crossings

Very tidy and well laid out level site. Lots of space, grounds and facilities well kept. I used a tent pitch (right by one toiled block) which was great. However, the welcome on site was not as normal. I was staying just the one night, with a one-man text, but I seemed to be doubted about my booking (of weeks earlier) and whether I was actually a member etc and showing my card did not seem to help. I did say that I usually have a caravan in tow, but on this occasion was picking up family members from a boat, hence one night and the tent. Many units on site were from the continent so it was great to talk to a few of them. I noticed most new/newish caravans and motorhomes were from the UK, whereas the older (up to 50 years) were from overseas. (Perhaps due to warmer/drier climate?) Great little shop across the road with great owner. Lucky for me they did hot drinks too (freshly made) since I did not want to take a cooker/kettle etc. Lots of other hot/cold food too including sandwiches which the warden said that the shop did not do. Pub just 100m away I would stay again (day or two) if a need to travel to France etc or if touring the region.
