Disappointed Member

Arrived on site Friday 4th September 2020, was given complete freedom of where to pitch (which was good), but was given no advice as to where there were problems with acorns and debris falling from trees, which resulted with us having to replace our roof window. as per debris falling on caravan roof. the fact that only 2 people were allowed into the toilet/shower block at any one time was to say the least unreasonable as per the size of the building, and the fact that the cost of staying at the site was not reduced in any way. We found ourselves walking from one end of the site to the to the toilet/shower block to find it unable to use because it was constantly in use. We also found noise levels high and unexceptable being unable to hear the tv as the work going on in the next field starting at 7.30am every morning going on till late at night. would not recommend this site at present time as per covid19. Also fresh water and toilet waste points are next to each other only in one location. very unhappy with site, and also being a member of the Caravan and motorhome Club for 10+ years we will not be returning to this site.

Fantastic site, safe and with all secure measures you could need.

Fantastic Site. Cannot say it enough. Social distancing observed by staff and members. Gated and secured. Very quiet and peaceful. The pitches are enormous and allow for a lot of room. The power points were well positioned also. The camp warden is a very friendly chap who cannot help enough. Everything was clean and well maintained and respected. Several families were present having holidays and having fun. Although the park was full it gave the sense that you had plenty of room. The facilities seemed really good but have not good inside to comment fully. It's really well located near the m20 exit with plenty large road to turn. The service station is close by and allows you to pop in for a cheeky fast food meal. Really close to all main areas of Kent.

Inviting and Peaceful Site

Bearsted is located straight off a main road, which is always a good start. The wardens were extremely friendly and helpful, keeping the facilities to a high standard of cleanliness. With the amount of leaves that have fallen and the persistent rain we have had it was great to see that both the pitches and pathways around the site were free of leaves. The site is fairly central in Kent with good access roads to Canterbury, Folkestone and London. Maidestone is only a 3.5 mile walk away, a good bus service into town is optional. Leeds Castle is less than 2 miles away in the opposite direction. The club WiFi service is excellent and the network (three) is acceptable if not great. I spent 8 nights here and found it quite peaceful and would quite happily return in the future.

A warm welcome makes all the difference

A lovely warm welcome by wardens Paul and Steph on arrival which was really nice. Lovely, level pitches with plenty of space. Immaculately clean facilities Small dog walk but always good to have on site Some road/plane noise but nothing that spoilt the stay New wardens arrived for the winter season Diane and Jeff who we had met once before last year on the Blackhorse site. Very friendly and welcoming and very helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay, hope to see you again in the future :-)

Good location for Leeds Castle

We had just bought our motorhome and wanted to try it out before a planned tour of Cornwall. We chose Bearsted so we could visit Leeds Castle, and stayed for two nights. The campsite is clean and well kept, the receptionist was welcoming and facilities are good.

We’re Absolute Beginners

Having bought our new touring van a couple of weeks ago, we decided to be sensible and stay local, Bearsted was perfect. So glad we did, what a great site and everyone was so friendly and helpful. We made friends with our neighbours on all sides and particularly thanked the help to get the awning up. The site is about 2 mins from M20, yes you can hear the motorway and nearby main road, but it’s not in your face and your far enough away to it not being a nuisance. Facilities are clean and tidy and closed for an hour and a half each day to maintain and keep the cleaning regime, which is great. Mains water close by, waste water and grey water easily disposed of. Dog walk small but It’s good enough and then just continue the walk around the site. As mentioned, be careful coming out of the site and turning right, it’s a fast road your pulling on to, the bend isn’t totally blind but just maintain attention. Definitely be back for a get away.....

Surpringly Good

It is a few years since I visited Bearsted and I found it pleasantly good. Site managers approachable. The site access road way had been altered slightly not that it was bad as it is only a smallish site anyway. Pitches are large and I always felt the site looked less crowded when the grass pitches are free in the centre. Everything was clean and tidy around the site, small amount of road noise from nearby M20,but this depends on the wind directions. The biggest drawback to me is turning right out of the site with or without the van as cars do come fast around the bend.
