Fantastic

We stayed here from 24-27th July. Although we had to find our own pitch when we arrived we were not concerned. There isn’t any water on the standard pitches but there is a service point. The toilets showers and communal areas were beyond anywhere else we have been this summer. You could smell how clean everything was even in the evening. The couple who run the park are jovial and very hard workers. We will definitely be back. Well done folks!

First visit to Balbirnie

First time at this site . Check in was so easy and quick and site rules ect were explained well and we were given print out of everything which was helpful. The site was spotless and has a really friendly atmosphere and so relaxing . Pitches were really big which was great. Toilet and shower facilities were spotless. we had dog with us and was very safe for her too. Lovely walk nearby at Bridle path was excellent for dog . Warden Joanna and Craig were so nice and helpful and never stopped keeping the site spotless. We will be back .

Balbirnie 23 - 30 June 2021

We were lucky to get on a level sunny grass pitch, but some of the pitches would have been disappointing. The wardens, Craig and Joanna do an amazing job keeping this site to a high standard and the toilets and shower block were immaculate - all done by just the two of them ! Covid dictated the closure of the information room, so Craig and Jo provided two A-frames at their own expense with details of attractions in the area - this was much appreciated. The park next door provided a myriad of paths, trails and meadows to explore - probably the best dog walk on the circuit. Thoroughly enjoyed our week - thank you Craig and Joanna.

Balbirnie Park

Just want to thank Jo and Craig for a lovely week at Balbirnie Caravan Site. They were so friendly and helpful, I will definitely be back. Location is excellent for exploring all Fife has to offer. Lovely clean site, well maintained and a really nice setting.

Trees

We have just enjoyed 7 nights at this very well kept site. The site is quite different from many club sites. It is not uniformed in its design & is more built around its surroundings. There are many tall trees & very shady pitches that may not suit everyone. There are also open grassy areas to pitch which we were lucky enough to have , they are snapped up very quickly. There is also a gravelled area which is mostly overlooked by nearby houses. The facility block is clean & well kept as you would expect. The wardens are both very friendly & helpful & nothing seems too much trouble to them. The park next door seems good for dogs & children to let off steam. We had a lovely run along the coast to Anstruther, great fish & chips, and Crail a charming little harbour with lovely pottery in center of village & fabulous cafe/ gallery in harbour.. the hotel in Markinch, Laurel Bank, just 5 min walk from site did a super sunday lunch & other meals looked good too.. we had great weather so no complaints.

Great Site

Just spent a weekend at this site and what a great site. Only criticism would be could be doing with a sign out on the road as almost missed the turning to the site. Great site set amongst tree’s and has some great walks. Easy access to pubs and restaurants in Markinch only 5 minutes walk and supermarket about 5 minute drive. Facilities as absolutely spotless and well done to the staff as possibly cleanest I have ever used. Will certainly be visiting again as was really made to fell welcome and very quiet.

Another 1st Class Club Site

We stayed at this immaculate site in early June. It is a very busy site and for some reason several nice, level grass pitches were coned off for several days whilst we were there. That apart we were able to find a pitch. Ours and quite a few other on the site were on a slope so you may well need to bare this in mind. The site is very sheltered with lots of mature trees. The wardens were very helpful and friendly and they kept the site in tip top condition. Nice touches were the help yourself herb and strawberry tubs! The ace in the hole for us was the Balbirnie park next door. There are paths a plenty, open spaces and woodland to explore. Whilst we were staying the Rhododendrons were in full bloom. They have an extensive collection and the size, colour and variety were just fabulous. Our dogs were able to have a good run around every day. There is plenty of places to visit both near and far. If you like a beach walk then Largo bay only a few miles away and dogs are allowed all year round. We will return next year!

Lovely site, but why close the only toilet block from 10.30am-12pm every day???

Nice site, excellent location for the local pub in Markinch and Balbirnie House itself. Lovely staff and beautifully kept, toilets/showers are very clean as you'd expect. But why close the only toilet block completely from 10.30am-12pm? If you're a late riser, or you want to visit the facilities before check-out (which lets face it, is when you'll suddenly feel the call of nature before getting on the road), you're stuffed. To be perfectly honest, that probably will preclude us from visiting again as it was a pest. The toilets weren't back in action even past noon so had to leave regardless and use the facilities at Asda in Dunfermaline instead as we had somewhere to be and couldn't hang around waiting for them to reopen.

Balbirnie Caravan Park , Markinch.

Just back from a stay at Balbirnie . Usual high standards so no problems there . Seems though the Gentleman using the band system for the loos haven’t quite got the hang of things ( or maybe don’t care enough to be bothered ) . Weather was great , which always helps and the Public Bar in Markinch open for trade . Good location and lovely peaceful quiet site . Will return , at some later date ……….

A right royal in the kingdom of fife.

First visit to this site, will definitely not be the last. A very friendly welcome at reception quick and efficient all COVID precautions were explained. All site facilities open and subject to the current COVID restrictions in the area. All facilities were cleaned to a very high standard. Short walk to Markinch and local shops. Really enjoyed our stay as it was a ideal location to visit this part of Fife. Will plan to visit this area again soon and this site in particular.
