We arrived at 12.30, wardens extremely helpful, and friendly explained everything. Site very tidy, shower block is very dated, but spotlessly clean. I dislike, as in other club sites listening in the morning to Chris Evans on radio 2, but that is my own preference. We didn't have time to get in to Ayr, but will visit again. This was our last stop having completed the NC500, it was good to get into a haven of peace.
Good site ,very good wardens .Showers need refurbishing but very clean as is the whole site. Ayr town is shabby with lots of closed shops and few good places to eat however the beach is nice
Quiet, clean site. Wardens helpful and friendly. Facilities good with piped music which I liked very much. Easy to walk along the river into Ayr where the small town is busy with lots of shops. There is a wide beach and entertainment there for the children. Would definitely visit again.
Very well placed for access to Ayr and Prestwick, peaceful and quiet site despite proximity to University Campuses. Facilities were clean but tired and dated. Signposting to site was poor with Caravan Club sat nav trying to take you into University. Plenty of walks and cycle rides easily accessible from the site.
Stayed for 1 night last week as part of round Scotland tour. Bit difficult to find via SatNav, wooded site little noisy with traffic noise (but think we have been spoilt with more secluded sites). Very friendly wardens, site clean and tidy no dog walk on site but lovely waterside walks nearby.
Found shower not very powerful and not keen on the music/radio on in there. Would have liked to stay longer and explore Ayr a bit more. Not able to get TV reception which was unexpected
Just back from 4 nights in Ayr last week and wished we could have stayed longer. Unfortunately the site was fully booked from Friday for the weekend . Lovely site in a really nice setting, perfect for the river walks and perfect for into town either by walking or by car. Maybe predujiced by belonging to the area but having moved away years ago but this site is hard to beat. Lovely bunch of people in last week and the wardens are second to none.
Have just returned from a weekend at this site. So peaceful and friendly. It's like a little community. Staff very helpful and visible around the site at all times. Fantastic location - lovely walk by the river takes you into the town centre and beach front. Have booked to go back for two weeks at end of July. TV reception pretty poor at times but that wasn't a problem just put music on and sang away. Lots of motorhomes in comparison to tourers. Pitches well maintained and accessible. Definitely recommend. The glorious weather helped too.
OK BUT Showers in Mens just NOT good at all-so much so that we didn't use them-Ladies the same-No pressure at all and cold.
Also fed up of being told to keep to the peg on pitches-Most people know this now-warden seemed a bit draconian-Lots of signs saying don't do this or that etc.
Great site!! When we arrived we saw the site was full, however it was still so peaceful!
We only spent one night with our new to us caravan for a test run, but had a lovely time. Owners were great help, we had a problem with a burst O-ring on our gas regulator and they sorted us out with a replacement.
Toilet and shower blocks are nice and clean.
All pitches are hard standing and room for awning and car next to caravan. We liked our pitch (number 70) as it was close to Toilet block and just Across from service point.
Will definitely return!
Just stayed here for 2 nights on our way up to a wedding on the Isle of Bute. Good location for exploring Ayr as it's easy to walk to seafront , town , station etc. No views and quite packed in but relatively peaceful .
