Lovely position

Lovely position in the park, dog walking, walking to river, into Ayr, plenty of beaches nearby. Only complaint is the showers (in ladies don't know about the mens) definitely need more & an upgrade. Too small so shower curtain clings & a bit mean in the changing area. Water pressure not great either. I would still go again.

Lovely site ! Shame about other peoples' children !

What a great site, we had a couple of peaceful days before the weekend.........then the children arrived! Bikes, balls, and screaming! And to my horror I walked out of the awning to see a boy of 8 or 9 urinating against the fence behind the van! Watch your children please, this young man was dressed in a full football kit, boots as well. He knew he was doing wrong! The site is well maintained, showers could have a better water pressure, but they are clean. Nice walks around, and the town is within easy reach. I do feel the Caravan Club should have some rules in place for children playing out, and that they should be supervised at all times, not left to their own devices whilst their parents enjoy a drink or two! Rant over, and mental note to avoid weekends!

Very good

Like so many of the other reviewers, the water pressure in the showers needs sorting out!!!  Other than this its a perfect site.

Excellent site

Returned after 2 years and as always a warm welcome, lovely site close to the town and riverside walks, clean modern facilities, well worth visiting and staying.

Back after 20 years.

First visit  to Ayr in 20 years and nothing much has changed - well laid out, great location for the town centre but the toilet block, although clean, is in need of upgrading and the shower water pressure is non-existent.  The Warden was friendly and helpful, the noise of the overhead aeroplanes not too intrusive but what spoilt it for us was the arrogance of some dog owners who obviously believe it is perfectly acceptable to let their dogs bark noisily and often.  Totally ruined the peace and quiet.

Noisy at times - Showers absolutely pathetic

As CC standards go,this site internally is up to standard.Wardens are friendly, helpful and keep the site immaculate. CC head office take heed - SPEND some money on the toilet blocks! Showers are pitiful and the block, although immaculately clean, really do need an upgrade. DO NOT take a pitch along the back of the site, adjacent to an industrial unit, housing estate. You will not get peace, some idiot decides on a Sunday afternoon to do some grinding and banging from Sunday afternoon until 20:30....NOT AMUSED as nothing was done about it! All in all very central and easy to find.

First time with CC and this is the 2nd Site

Found the site relatively easy (Navi), was somewhat surprised at the location, being practically 'in Town' however the welcome was nice and the camp site very tidy and on paar with the CC standard (I believe). The only Manko that I would raise is the Shower water pressure being virtually non existent, and a source of repeated Ärgernis (sorry the word in English fails right now). On the Sunday a further Ärgernis was the fact that workers in an adjacent works area were using a Motor Saw (Sunday ??) and this for what seemed like for ever. I guess there are no laws governing Work/Noise disturbance on a Sunday in the Uk. Non the less a nicely located site for the Town/shopping and local activities. The Wardens were friendly and helpful the site well looked after. An after note: The facilities & cleanliness got a 3 based upon the shower water pressure saga which in my view could be fixed by an additional pump downside of the water intake. Just do not cause a Vakuum by using a overpowered pump. Peace & quiet 3 due to the Sunday noise (anyone able to inform me if working on a Sunday with a power saw in a residential area is the norm in UK)

Time for an update

Craigie is a nicely laid out convenient site, whether for walkng into the town itself, or visiting other tourist attractions. However, the site is badly needing an upgrade to the shower blocks. The wardens do a sterling job, but the water pressure is so poor that only a trickle of water is produced. The whole idea of being in a club is to enjoy some benefits from our subscriptions, time for the Caravan Club to spend money.

Nice, friendly site

I stayed here for one night in April on my way to pick up a new campervan. Due to roadworks and then a diversion once I left the motorway, I realised I would be late so rang the warden. She was very friendly and helpful, directing me to the late night arrivals area.  I am sorry I was only here for one night and look forward to staying here again before long - and for longer next time.
