Perfect Stopover

We just had a couple of nights on this site and found it to be very convenient for the town centre, with excellent instructions provided by the wardens on how to walk into Ayr. Site was easy to find from the book, and I thought the showers and facilities were perfectly fine. My only grumble is that the tumble dryer was very slow, I spent £4 just to get some undies dried, and even then they were still a bit damp. With our inclement Scottish weather it's not always possible to hang things out to dry! However the washing machine was excellent and site well looked after.

Weekend break

We had a weekend break for the first time here,We had a good time, weather was great, our pitch was near the fire station on the other side of the hedge/trees which was a bit noisy at times, but other that it was fine.Shower block is getting a bit dated but everything you need is there and clean, showers are adjustable and stay on as long as you need them no pressing buttons all the time.Would come back again.

Very Good

We stopped at this site on our way to Northern Scotland. We used our satnav to find the site, which it does warn you of in the book, that's why we ended up in a car park the other side of the college block. Anyway after asking a couple of people found it just round the corner. We had five nights on this site, and found the toilet block up to its usual standard, nice and clean. However we also found the water pressure very low and took ages to fill our water barrel. We liked the town with lots of places of interest, but the main thing was of course it was in walking distance. If we ever travel up North again we would stop over again on this site. Thank you to your wardens who were very helpful and pointing us in the right direction.

showers disappointing

We enjoyed our first visit to the site at Ayr. However, the toilet facilities were disappointing and not what we expect at a caravan club site. The n umber of showers and the lack of water pressure were inadequate for the number of pitches.

First stay at craigie cc site

This is the closest cc site to our home address so ideal for a couple of nights just to get away. Warm welcome from the friendly wardens, site was in great condition which was down to the wardens hard work. Toilet facilities were clean but could be doing with an update. When we arrived there was only a handful of pitches avaliable so we could not one where the sun would shine in the evening. We were in the opposite side from the toilet block with overhanging high trees which resulted in no sun after about 4pm. This was not a big issue but hopefully we will manage to get a better pitch next visit where we can bbq in the evening with a bit of sunshine ha ha. Great site and will be back many times in the near future.

Fantastic

Small peaceful site, very clean and staff very helpful! Ideal for walking the dog with the beach  and town only 20 minutes away. Dogs allowed on the beach, off lead walks along the river that stretches for miles. Don't forget to pay a visit to 'twa dugs for a pint and a bowl of water & treats for the dog ! All in all a great site with easy access to Ayr

Showers a let down

Great location ,great layout of the pitches, but showers let it down .quite expensive ,so would expect a decent shower , plus wifi should be free.also struggle to get a TVs reception depending on what pitch you get.also when you are leaving , you a struggling to get out , because they are queuing up to get in , and you are having to go into the grass verge .a shower pump would sort the shower problem , 300.00  We use the site about twice a month , but have started to use our own shower because it's better power than the ones on site But it's still our favourite site because of location

Great site

Great site within walking distance of Ayr town centre. Entrance to site has a lovely floral display which is a credit to the wardens hard work.

Lovely stay

Stayed here for the golf open. Lovely welcome from the wardens even though they were stressed as the electric was off on some of the pitches. Toilet blocks were spotless and site well presented with bind and grass cut daily.  Ayr is run down but this did not spoil our stay. The area is generally quiet and is a dog walkers paradise with lovely walks to the promenade and by the river. We will be returning.
