Pretty, well kept and friendly.

I regularly stay here with my dogs, for a few nights each month. As a novice, I often find my caravan surprises me with a new challenge, each trip! The wardens are always super helpful and friendly, the site is clean and beautifully kept, and the village of Ashwell is well served by pubs and shops, within walking distance. There is an excellent dog walk direct from site, a station within 5 minutes drive or so, and a Tesco Extra within 15 mins drive approximately.

First Class Wardens and site. January 2019.

We have stopped at Ashridge Farm many times over the last 4 years. With both a caravan and Motorhome. Sally and Graham and Lesley and George ( Relief) are excellent Wardens that keep the site spotless. You always get a cheerful greeting on arrival nothing is too much trouble. The site is set in a peaceful, pretty village with very good amenities, a bakers , small supermarket, butchers , pharmacy and 3 pubs all in walking distance. There is a interesting church and a wonderful museum ( check opening times). For Motorhomers it is a place to walk around locally and you can visit Letchworth Garden City ( parking in Sainsbury's or stores on the outskirts). Royston has a large Tesco and Wimpole NT is not far away with good parking. The station is some 2/3 miles away along a narrow country road so unless you have a car it would be difficult to access. Royston Station is very busy with commuters and parking is very difficult for Motorhomers. Unfortunately the Wardens are leaving in March 2019 but we are hopeful we will get Wardens with a similar friendly disposition.

Overnight stop on way home

Have used this site a few times on way home from France and each time its the same , clean and tidy etc. Yes a bigger toilet block would be good but as its a small site its fine as is. Wardens very helpful and friendly. Like the place just close to the site who sells eggs and veg on the road side with a box to put your money in great fresh stuff. Will use again, thanks.

Maiden Voyage

Couldn’t have chosen a better site for our maiden voyage - beautifully maintained, great facilities and the wardens were so helpful and friendly. This is a small site in a beautiful location. Can’t wait to visit again.

Lovely surprise

Initially we were booked in Commons Wood but a fellow vanner recommended Ashridge so we took a punt and changed our plans. So glad we did. Lovely site, small and very well run by friendly wardens. Yes not many facilities but never any problems with queues etc. Ashwell is a nice village with three pubs, we found the Rose and Crown to be the best. A bakery and excellent butcher . The village store wasn't up to much. Not the best site if you intend to get the train to London. Car parking at the station, 2 miles away, is impossible - due to commuters. No spaces after 7.30am. We'd definitely visit again and it's firmly on our list for next time

Ashridge Farm

A really pleasant little site in a lovely village. We were on the grass area, only eight vans with a nice empty space left in the middle, ideal safe spot for the grandchildren we saw staying with their grandparents. There are some great walks direct from the site, lots of wildlife to see. We loved the walk to the village, three pubs, a shop, café, museum, butcher etc. Interesting church with medieval graffiti, the source of the River Cam with very beautiful chalk springs and a good village cricket pitch. Worth checking what's happening in the village as there are various events. One of those sites we wished we had nearer to us!

Gorgeous site and super-helpful staff!

Just stayed here for 3 nights - what an absolute gem of a site! We don't live too far away but just wanted to escape for few nights and will definitely be coming back - originally booked for 2 nights but extending it for an extra night. It's in such a peaceful setting, the facilities are spot on given its size and the staff are so friendly and helpful and the village is a very short walk away. Lots of longer and interesting walks in the area, too. Thank you Ashridge Farm - we will be back!!!

Can only be recommended as a stopover

The site is small and well maintained. It offers no more than a CL. There are two showers so we just used our own. The village is lovely, we watched a cricket match, but really there is very little in the area just very "beige" towns. Anywhere of interest is too far for motorhomers and really would be better off staying at a site nearer these places. As an overnight stop it is ok, but as a holiday destination forget it. It is overpriced for what it offers. This site is owned by a commercial enterprise and this site does not offer value for money.

Mid-Week Mini Break

Great mid-week stay to meet up with friends who had come down from The Midlands. Lots of space on each pitch, quiet. Warden was extremely welcome and very funny! Easy walk into the village with it's choice of three pubs and lovely old church. Only a few miles from me but I will go again as, once inside, you could be anywhere. Lovely.
