Wardens going well beyond the call of duty.

We are regular users of this site and wanted five nights from 14th Feb but site was full on the Saturday so we booked four from the Sunday.I rang on spec on the wednesday to ask about cancellations but still full.Imagine my surprise when the warden rang my mobile on friday afternoon to say someone had cancelled Sat if we wanted it.I had not left my name on the wed but mentioned we had four nights from the Sun,and the warden must have traced me from this!!!! WE ARE VERY VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE WARDENS,SUE AND PETE,AND FEEL THEY ARE A SHINING EXAMPLE OF THE VERY BEST OF THE CLUB.WELL DONE BOTH.It goes without saying that the site was as beautifully run as ever.

Hidden Gem

First time visiting this site and will definitely be back. Only a small site but perfectly located to walk into the village (10 mins.) which has a post office, small shop, butchers, bakers and three pubs (dog friendly). The wardens were very friendly and most helpful. Yes, there is noise from the building works next door, but it's not massively intrusive and the wheels of industry do have to carry on, even when we're in our caravans! Overall, nice small friendly site, great location and will definitely be back.

Our first break of 2015

Just came back from a two night stay at Ashridge, our first break this year.  Very nice site, small and clean. Lovely wardens.  A ten minute walk to the village, and two dog friendly pubs.  We ate at the Crown, good pub food and a lovely atmosphere. Nice walks from the site so the dog loved it.  Such a shame about the building work going on right next to the site. It did not worry us at all but wouldnt go back in the summer when you would want to sit outside, as quite noisy.  Hopefully a lot of the ground work will be finished by then so might not be so much heavy machinery, but feel really sorry for the wardens having to put up with noise for most of the year.

Lovely for walking and geocaching

We had a lovely stay at this site, pitches are relatively level and very well kept. The wardens were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The area is lovely with lovely walks to neighbouring villages which were also very nice. I only gave four stars for quietness as they are building a housing estate next door and they do work on a Saturday but not too early otherwise very quiet and tranquil. Over all a superb site and would love to return there at some stage. We also done 37 geocaches over eight miles there.

REGULAR USER OF THIS SITE

We use this site as it is close to our sons home in Letchworth. Very helpful care taker wardens. Could get a little noisy this year as some new houses are being built immediately adjacent to site. Ground workers start early and work Saturdays.

Alright in winter

Stayed on this site for 5 nights in January, lovely little site very clean quite peaceful at the moment but don't know it will be like when they start building the houses next door. The wardens were very pleasant and helpful. The only thing is I won't be going back in the summer as their is only two showers, two toilets, and three wash basins in the mens shower block. I hate to think what it would be like when the site is full. Apart from that it is a lovely little site.           Mr R Phipps.

First night!

We stayed here 1 night in January. Our first night in a caravan! Total novices! We were most impressed with the welcome and assistance given by the owners. We live in SW France, and will visit again when we next come to the UK with the caravan.

Family Christmas visit

Stayed at the site to be close to family for Christmas. Nice quiet, clean site with friendly staff although not pro-active in making sure pathways and service points were not affected by the icy conditions. Ashwell village was lovely and The Three Tuns pub was a superb find with fantastic food and welcoming staff.
