Excellent peaceful site

Well what can I say, as a complete novice with all things relating to the caravan I was hugely impressed. The site was absolutely spotless and not a blade of grass out of place. Upon arriving I was greeted by very friendly staff and patient making the booking in very easy. The pitch we chose was on grass in a nice little corner, pleasantly surprised with complimentary electric hook up as wasn't expecting it. Throughout the stay the site was maintained to a high standard and remained very peaceful and quiet. Lovely local walks for the dogs and parking on the grass area made it very easy to come and go without disturbing anyone. I will definitely be going back soon. Thankyou again for a lovely pleasant stay. Highly recommended A+++

Great for stop-overs - or for longer!

This is a lovely, peaceful site - perfect after a long drive. We were using it as a two-night stop-over on our way from Durham to the Sussex coast but we'll almost certainly re-visit the site for a longer stay. The pretty village is barely 10 minutes' walk away and has a general shop, bakery, pharmacy and an excellent butcher/deli as well as a couple of nice cafe/gift shops and three (or more!) pubs. The parish council has produced an excellent guide to the geography and history of the village and its surrounds. Get hold of a copy and go explore!

Lovely Peaceful site

A lovely small site, with a really friendly team. Nice level pitches. Situated in a beautiful village, with 'Days Bakery' providing fresh pastries and cakes! Three nice pubs all within walking distance, and a gem of a little spring that the dog loved jumping around in. The washrooms on the site are limited, but it was never really a problem. We highly recommend this site.

Peaceful site with very friendly staff and excellent facilities

We stayed at Ashridge on the way from the east coast to Bletchley Park. The site is immaculate, the pitch was level and large with an easy hook up. The site is very quiet and peaceful and the staff were wonderfully welcoming and friendly.

2nd visit

This is our 2nd visit first one was pre pandemic. Its a lovely small site and all the staff are so friendly always made time to chat which is lovely. This site is in a lovely small village with 3 pubs a shop and a cafe plus the lovely Ashwell springs. Its a lovely village to walk around always something new to spot so many old buildings. If you like walking this is a great place there are so many lovely walks to do all around. If you need retail therapy pop up to the Biggleswade retail park on the A1 but go via the country roads rather than back down the Baldock bypass. We will definitely be back again .

Geocaching Trip

Have stayed here before but only for a night on way back from Europe so a longer stay was booked for us to go our on our bikes Geocaching as lots of caches in this area. Van got covered with sticky stuff of some of the trees and only yesterday had to do the tough job of washing the roof plus the rest of the motorhome. Plus side was the weather was good and we got loads of Geocaches logged during our stay. Good area for bike riding as most of the roads were quiet with little traffic.

Lovely small and peaceful site

This was the last site of our first motorhome holiday. We didn't expect or anticipate too much as it was just a stop on the way home but we loved it. The smallest site we stayed on and totally peaceful. The best bit is Ashwell village a short walk away, so pretty and no fewer than three pubs! Although one had not reopened since lockdown. We had the pleasure of visiting The Bushel and Strike with a view of the church. Had our drinks in the garden within sight/sound of their resident ducks and the very attentive and smiley staff kindly squeezed us in for a meal despite being fully booked later that evening. Fabulous meal.

We Enjoyed Our Stay

For Motorhomers without a car, this site is particularly handy, being on the edge of this very charming village. The village has three pubs, but we only ate at the Bushel and Strike, which has a large marquee, The cod loin and chips were so delicious, I ate them two days running! Don't miss the water spring with its stepping stones (from where Ash Well gets its name), and the cottage garden. The campsite is in a peaceful setting and offers the usual amenities. Turn left out of the site for long walks through the fields.

Lovely small site in a gorgeous village and lovely area

Lovely small site in a gorgeous village and lovely area. Lovely for walks straight from the site, for example to Steeple Morden and back to Ashwell, a lovely village. Worth having at Bushel and Strike. Peacocks heard regularly from near the site. Also good for cycling, e.g. to Guilden Morden, Hinxsworth, Wrestlungworth, Baldock and Bygrave, then back to Ashwell 24 miles. Another good walk is to Hinxsworth Place and village. Back via Ashwell End. The Ashwell church has ancient graffiti inc. Old St Paul's cathedral drawing.
