Second time we've been here
Lovely site well situated with excellent access to transportation with bus stops and train station within minutes walk
Great base
A leafy site with good transport links to all the attractions that London offers. Yes there is a bit of noise from planes but it didn't disturb us.
It's a short walk to bus stops, and the station is just a few minutes away with regular trains into Charing Cross.
The Green Chain is a 40 mile chain of linked footpaths through SE London that passes very close to the site and proved a smashing route for a jog (not the whole 40 miles you understand!)
We would definitely use this site again for our next visit to the capital.
Pity about the Abbey pub
Great site with perfect level hardstanding pitches and clean facilities. Pity about the only local pub though which didn't allow dogs. Only a stop over for us, so didn't get chance to explore more. New wardens who were very helpful.
Abbey Wood Stop
Another stay at this brilliant site for access to London however, take note of Cross Rail works as Saturday we had to find the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to Town and Sunday had a bus service to Plumstead (the next rail stop) and then find the DLR from Woolwich. Can add 20/30 mins to trip. Sainsbury's open the North side of the station which has a Café for the obligatory cooked breakfast if you do not fancy the Abbey Café on the way to the station. Plane noise from London City Airport noticeable if wind in wrong direction from about 0645 ish. With friendly staff and excellent facilities, a great place to stay.
Railway station closed
Have visited this excellent site twice over the winter and found the local railway station closed on both occasions at the weekend. This is because Abbey Wood station is at the end of the London Crossrail project and works to the station are done on a weekend. Locally we knew where we wanted to go and used the excellent Uber taxi network to get around. There are plenty of bus stops but they need a bit of working out, and it can take an hour into London this way. My only gripe, as it is with all CC sites is that I feel arrival should be extended on Fridays to 10.00 pm to allow people who work 9 to 5, and have long journeys to get to the site without having to use the Late Night Arrival pitches. There are plenty of wardens on this site and a rota could easily be worked out to allow the staff not to have to do this every week and yet the customers are served!!
Week stop in london oasis!
1st stay at this site...just 5 mins from overground train station / bus stops and direct links into the city and underground. Sainsburys near by and fab cafe on route to train station -abbey cafe- well worth a cooked breakfast. Great location / base to visit London...if u go over dartford crossing u need to go on line and pay a small toll, not well advertised but easy to do once u know...will def be back as full weeks stay probably wouldn't even pay for 1 night in hotel!

Rural retreat for London
Second visit to this site and it still does not disapoint. As previous reports only a 5-10 min walk to local railway station for trips into London.Site which is on the edge of a wood is kept very smart and tidy and very quiet considering where it is situated. If you do tire of London, Greenwich is definatley worth a visit. The local area is slowly being redeveloped with Crossrail going in, and a large Sainsbury's open since my last visit.

Superb site in the heart of London
Really enjoy coming to this site. You forget you are in the middle of London. Staff here so friendly and helpful and they keep the site spotless. Location perfect for visiting London attractions. Cannot wait to come back ??
Lovely Site
Lovely site well looked after. Lots to do in the area. Would recommend , I am sure we will return later this year.
Perfect site for visiting London
We stayed here for the first time at February half term, 2 family caravans with 4 children ranging from 9 to 15.
The site is located on the edge of a residential area backing on to woods. Listen out for the foxes and woodpeckers and see if you can spot the parrots.
The site has gentle slops but all pitches are flat and they have a generous amount of hard standing pitches. The toilet blocks are clean and functional.
Each morning we took a short walk to the train station where you can catch a direct train to either Charing Cross or Cannon street stations, journey time approx. 30 minutes (coming back there is a train every 10 minutes from Cannon street). We used a family rail card which can be purchased for a small fee but it made the cost of 2 adults and 4 children for an all-day travel card (bus and tube included) £25.00!!
If you don’t fancy a trip in to the capital each day Greenwich is a short bus ride or train ride away, with its market, naval college, royal observatory and the Cutty Sark in residence, you can also pop to the Thames Barrier.
There is also the DLR service at Greenwich which will take you to Stratford where the Olympic Park is. This is one site we will definitely be returning to.
