A very lovely spot!

We spent two weeks there and can highly recommend this campsite! A really great place with perfectly manicured pitches and facilities. Very clean and quiet with a good connection (10-minute walk) to the train station. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Great base

A leafy site with good transport links to all the attractions that London offers. Yes there is a bit of noise from planes but it didn't disturb us. It's a short walk to bus stops, and the station is just a few minutes away with regular trains into Charing Cross. The Green Chain is a 40 mile chain of linked footpaths through SE London that passes very close to the site and proved a smashing route for a jog (not the whole 40 miles you understand!)  We would definitely use this site again for our next visit to the capital.

Pity about the Abbey pub

Great site with perfect level hardstanding pitches and clean facilities. Pity about the only local pub though which didn't allow dogs. Only a stop over for us, so didn't get chance to explore more. New wardens who were very helpful.

Abbey Wood Stop

Another stay at this brilliant site for access to London however, take note of Cross Rail works as Saturday we had to find the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to Town and Sunday had a bus service to Plumstead (the next rail stop) and then find the DLR from Woolwich. Can add 20/30 mins to trip. Sainsbury's open the North side of the station which has a Café for the obligatory cooked breakfast if you do not fancy the Abbey Café on the way to the station. Plane noise from London City Airport noticeable if wind in wrong direction from about 0645 ish. With friendly staff and excellent facilities, a great place to stay.

Railway station closed

Have visited this excellent site twice over the winter and found the local railway station closed on both occasions at the weekend. This is because Abbey Wood station is at the end of the London Crossrail project and works to the station are done on a weekend. Locally we knew where we wanted to go and used the excellent Uber taxi network to get around. There are plenty of bus stops but they need a bit of working out, and it can take an hour into London this way. My only gripe, as it is with all CC sites is that I feel arrival should be extended on Fridays to 10.00 pm to allow people who work 9 to 5, and have long journeys to get to the site without having to use the Late Night Arrival pitches. There are plenty of wardens on this site and a rota could easily be worked out to allow the staff not to have to do this every week and yet the customers are served!!

Week stop in london oasis!

1st stay at this site...just 5 mins from overground train station / bus stops and direct links into the city and underground. Sainsburys near by and fab cafe on route to train station -abbey cafe- well worth a cooked breakfast. Great location / base to visit London...if u go over dartford crossing u need to go on line and pay a small toll, not well advertised but easy to do once u know...will def be back as full weeks stay probably wouldn't even pay for 1 night in hotel!

Rural retreat for London

Second visit to this site and it still does not disapoint. As previous reports only a 5-10 min walk to local railway station for trips into London.Site which is on the edge of a wood is kept very smart and tidy and very quiet considering where it is situated. If you do tire of London, Greenwich is definatley worth a visit. The local area is slowly being redeveloped with Crossrail going in, and a large Sainsbury's open since my last visit.
