Easy access to London

As I have stayed here before I knew what to expect, spotless site and facilities, warm and friendly staff and a short walk to the overground trains into London. The hardstands are easy to access and level and I will continue to use this site for days out in London (football on this occasion). Exit gates do not open until 8.00 am, which I had forgotten, and I was seeking an early get away, fortunately one of the staff was out early walking his dog and he very kindly opened up for me to get away, nothing too much trouble, just as I like it, cant recommend this site enough.

Peace and quiet after a busy day in London

We have just returned from a five night stay at this site. Each day we visited various parts of London, all within easy reach via either the bus or train. We managed to pack in visits to the Royal Observatory, Tate Modern, National Gallery, Sadlers Wells and a shopping trip to see the Christmas lights around Oxford and Regent Streets. The site is great to return to. Quiet and peaceful after crowds and noise. The facilities were extremely clean and warm with lots of hot water for showering and washing up. The wardens were always pleasant and chatty whenever we saw them and were helpful in advising how we should go about paying for travel into and around London. I appreciated the fact that the large site gates are locked from 10 pm to 8am as it made the site feel safe at night. The best bit though is the wildlife. There are wild parrots in the trees and we heard owls at night. Each morning we watched dozens of squirrels searching out nuts. Certainly a site to return to.

Great place

Even we arrived late we got a very warm welcome. As the site was not fully booked we could even chose our pitch ourself. Very clean and quiet place with easy access to Central London by rail (which will even be better once Crossrail line opens) or to Greenwich by bus which e.g. stops right in front of Greenwich Maritime Museum. The TB we used had underfloor heating - great in November! Important to use site directions from handbook and not to rely on satnav to avoid unpleasant roads through residential area. A very well stocked Sainsbury is 10 mins walk.

Great location

Really helpful and hardworking wardens. We were found a pitch at short notice on a Friday afternoon, not an easy task but they managed it. The site itself takes a lot of effort to maintain, there are so many trees dropping leaves that it's never ending job at the moment to keep them under control. The facilities are good. Around and about there are good walks in the nearby woods, the walk to the Abbey ruins is recommended. Access to transport links is easy and convenient. The bus route to Greenwich is interesting and great value for the £1.50 fixed fare. We didn't use the train on this occasion but the station, which is undergoing building work as part of the Cross Rail project, is close by. However, Saturday and Sunday services are often disrupted with buses put on instead of trains. Overall this is a convenient site for visits to London and I would recommend it. Don't miss Franks Fish and Chip shop nearby. Good food at a reasonable price.

Very Good

Being new to motorhoming I was not too sure what to expect from a site in an urban environment. I can only recommend this site. Good facilities and friendly staff. Excellent location for visiting Greenwich or for a trip into the West End. I look forward to coming back.

A real gem

Just spent a long weekend here and would thoroughly recommend the site. The wardens were always helpful and cheerful and seemed to work non-stop to maintain the site in the inclement weather conditions. Ideal location for going into London for a show or just shopping

Great as always

We use this site for all our visits to London, and as usual this latest visit was fantastic. The lovely trees, wildlife and surroundings make the stay an absolute pleasure. The wardens are always so helpful and do a great job of looking after the site.

Super but ...

Have stayed here before as it's great to travel into London using the £12 Travel card for use on all trains, buses and underground. Site is very well run, clean and tidy. Small point: the showers were not piping hot as they used to be. The only but (and it's nothing to do with the site) was the occasional VERY loud bangs presumably from a nearby bird scarer device.

FANTASTIC

We booked to stay at the Abbey for two nights but loved it so much we wanted to stay longer sadly they only had one more day available. The staff here are the best we have ever come across ,we had health problem and the staff couldn't do enough for us ,the facility's are spotless . We will return with a bottle of South American wine that we were going to give you ,but we had to leave early in the morning. Kind regards from the Cornish couple X X

excellent location for london

Just spent a week at this great Site, site is only a 5 minute walk to the train station, which will take you into central London about 30 min. large sainsburys 10 mins walk. Alot of wild life, so beware was the sons 6th birthday while we was there and left a birthday cake in awning, mr fox came in at night and draged it outside. Good size hard standing pitches with tv hook up, but beware i had pitch under the trees which was horse chestnut as the place was full my caravan was constantly bombarded with these day and night we was not there most of the day . which has resulted in a very dinted caravan roof and front, so not happy would also wake you up at night. There was several pitches like this so cannot under stand why they are not coned off. did ask to move but was told it was full. small play ground for small kids, showers great as alway
