Venndown just perfect

What a stunning CL, very spacious and peaceful, toilets and shower were very clean for the 2 weeks we were there. The swimming pool and hot tub are a real bonus and well worth the daily fee, another bonus on site is the very large dog walking field. Theres plenty of nice places to visit Boscastle and Tintagel are only 10 minutes away, Newquay and Bude are only 30 minutes away. We cannot reccomend this site high enough as it was perfect in our eyes and we loved every minute of our stay a big thanks to Camilla and family for the hard work you put in to this beautiful site.

Couldn't be a better CL

We have just returned from a wonderful week's stay at this fabulous CL. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. Everything is immaculately maintained. Very spacious pitches which may require levelling blocks, excellent facilities, free wifi, huge dog exercise area, 2 toilets/washrooms, showers (£1 for 10 minutes) plus the added bonus of a heated swimming pool & hot tub (£3 per day). The site is located perfectly to explore this area of Cornwall. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to everyone. I have uploaded a short site arrival & photographic video tour to Youtube.

Fabulous CL

As others have pointed out - this is a fabulous CL with the added bonus of an indoor swimming pool and a brilliant on- site dog walk. Large spacious pitches (choice of grass or hard standing) with Tintagel & Boscastle only 3 or 4 miles away. Only slight negative (and it's very, very slight) there's a B road running alongside the site so a little traffic noise is heard. However, I did see buses running along this B road, but didn't use them. Beautiful part of our country with great walking and cycling from the site with beautiful beaches not far away. Good eateries in the towns mentioned where there's something for everyone. Like a Cornish cream tea - this site (like the cream) is on the top of many people's list - it's not difficult to see why.

Fab site

Have stayed on this perfect site for two weeks and can honestly say we couldn't fault it. We had a serious amount of rain whilst here but the site even coped well with that. The site is immaculate from the grass to the shower area and is easy to access north Cornwall attractions.

Superb doesn't capture this CL

Absolutely immaculate from grass cutting to cleanliness of toilets and shower. Recycling well ordered and chemical disposal point with flush. The dog walking area was out of action as fences were being repaired but helpfully we were provided with alternative exercise area for our lame Border Collie. This is the best CL we have used and cannot suggest anything that would improve it. As we don't live far away we look forward to returning. Alyson

A Gem!

Can’t add much more to Nelliethehooker’s review, a great location, a very nice CL and welcoming owners. Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived, and remained so throughout our visit. We took advantage of the pool and hot tub, nice and warm, clean and tidy. A good location for touring this area, at a good Autumn price. Pitches are very spacious, the dog walk on site is safe for well behaved dogs. Bonus of alternative accommodation for any friends or family without a touring outfit.

Venndown Farmhouse, Nr Camelford, Cornwall...What a Site!!

This is another grand CL with, at the moment, 1 H/S pitch and a choice of 6 others on grass, all with EHU. They do slope a little so levelling block are required. There are 2 toilets, each with wash hand basins and hot water and a separate shower(charge). Free Wi-Fi is available and there is also a small heated swimming pool and a hot tub too. There is a large field were one can exercise one's dog adjacent to the site. The owners are very friendly and helpful, always ready for a chat but not intrusive at all. They run 2 holiday lets and also do B&B at the farmhouse. The site is easily accessed from the A39, is peaceful and has views towards the coast. There are plenty of interesting place close by, e.g. Vintage, Boscastle, Port Isaac and Bodmin Moor. The nearest shops and petrol station are about 3 mils away at Camelford, and major supermarkets can be found at Wadebridge and Bude. This is certainly a CL that we would use again next time we are down this way. At this time of the year the site fees of £12 pn are a real bargain!!

Super Site, Lovely Views, Lovely People ... and a swimming pool and hot tub!

We booked a 14 night stay in September and had a great time despite the weather! Located and clearly signposted just off the B3266 access, even for a large, twin axle caravan is straightforward. The drive leads you to the farmhouse where you must book-in before going onto the CL field. There is a single hardstanding pitch, the remaining are all on grass and are clearly numbered. The size of each pitch is extremely generous and easily accommodated our twin axle caravan and 4 x 4. We would have also erected an awning but the weather, unfortunately, was not good during the time of our stay. Storms Ali and Bronagh have a lot to answer for! There are numerous electric points (each clearly showing the pitch number plus the ability to re-set should you trip the connection) and water is at a point close to the entrance to the CL field. The CL also has free Wi-Fi across the entire site. Access to each pitch is from a shingle track and levelling blocks may be required. In a separate building is an information point, toilet and shower (Additional charge) plus, just outside this building you will find the chemical disposal point. Furthermore in a separate, glass covered conservatory there is an indoor swimming pool, hot tub, changing room and shower which can be used at an additional, daily charge, There are also picnic tables and a small children’s play area on a separate area. There are some lovely views from all pitches including those of the sea plus an adjacent field where two horses kept us amused by their antics during our stay. There is some road noise from the adjacent B3266 but we didn’t find this particularly intrusive. A short drive from the site is The Camel Trail where bikes can be hired at various locations on the trail. This is a very good surfaced trail and is extremely popular, especially at weekends. The ports of Boscastle, Port Isaac, Bude etc. are all worth visiting although, it should be noted, that none offer free parking. Walking along the coastal footpath is possible although surfaces do vary. If you are wary of heights, slippery stone / rock, steep slopes (in places) the coastal path should be avoided. There are a number of supermarkets within a short drive of the site. The National Trust also have a number of places worth visiting whilst you are in the area. We found Jackie, Richard and Camilla to be extremely friendly and helpful and clearly made every effort in keeping the CL spotlessly clean. For example the grass areas are regularly mowed and the cuttings are removed to avoid being trodden into the caravans. We have no hesitation in recommending the site and will certainly be using it again when we are next in the area.

Fantastic Stay

We stayed here in August 2018, a family of 4 with 2 busy boys. We loved it. Lots of space for the boys to play, and a great swimming pool. Great facilities. A great site to visit the local area. Highly Recommended

Loved this site!!

Stayed at Venndown Farmhouse for 4 nights end July beginning Aug 2018 as part of south coast trip. 2 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs in 1 caravan. Lovely views from the dog walk in the field next to the sheep field. Sheep, horses and cats on site. Working sheep farm so bear this in mind if you don't like animals. Lovely swimming pool and hot tub, the kids especially loved it!! toilets and shower kept beautifully clean, and site very well run. I would buy this place if I could!! Just down the road is Tintagel, and Bude beach is a must to visit too!! Will definitely return to this site if we come back to Cornwall. Very pleased we picked this site having trawled through each and every suitable cl site in Cornwall.
