Peaceful

We arrived on site in a mist, low cloud to be exact, so were a little unsure of what the surrounding area was like. We weren't disappointed. We chose pitch 7 as suggested by another reviewer but found that being at the top of the paddock we felt very exposed when the winds were gusting at about 50mph so moved down to pitch 1 the next day. This too has a distant view of the sea, is closer to the amenities and a lot more sheltered. ok it is at the bottom of the field, but it is so well drained that it posed not problem. We were given a warm welcome from Di and I must say that the shower and toilets were kept nice and clean. The only downside is that the shower room is not heated although spotlessly clean. I mentioned to them that they could do with a folding chair in there to assist the slightly infirm whilst dressing. It would also give you somewhere to put your bits and pieces other than hanging them on the back of the door. The shower was also quite expensive, £1 for 10minutes, which I actually found too long a time. I would rather it was 50p for 5mins and then you would have the choice of taking longer if you wanted. All in all a lovely spot and well worth visiting. You have to drive to the pub in Boscastle unfortunately, it is not within walking distance, but that didn't spoil our very cold, windy, wet May fortnight. We will be back.

Easter 2013

This is all that everyone else has said about the site. Our five day stay unfortunately coincided with the unseasonably cold weather but at least it was dry for the entire stay so it did not keep us confined to the caravan. You will definitely need levelling blocks for both caravan and motor-van combos but the effort of using these is well worth the trouble. Pitches are on grass but are exceptionally well drained with plenty of electric hook-up points to give various permutations when pitching. The only things that I would add to other member's comments is that the entrance is not marked with the usual Club CL sign so follow the instructions provided to the letter, and those with longer outfits will need to take care and swing wide when accessing but this is not a problem. We particularly enjoyed visiting Boscastle and I can recommend the walk along the coast path for the views alone - very picturesque. Another site that we will definitely return to if in the area.

Cornwall in October, bliss!

We have just spent a week staying on this CL and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A warm greeting was given by Di and we were informed where all facilities were located and also gave us an info sheet listing recommended places to visit and eat. The pitches are located on a large sloping field where levelling blocks may be required depending on which pitch you choose or is available. Ample blocks are supplied stacked up outside the toilet and shower block. The toilet and shower block is an excellent facility for a CL with two large toilet/wash rooms and a large shower room. Everything is kept immaculate with a high standard of cleanliness and also has a small display of local facilities and places to visit nearby. Outside the block is located the chemical disposal and waste and recycling bins. All pitches are an ample size with pitch number 7 having distant sea views which is the one that we chose. An added advantage of this pitch is it’s located at the highest point of the site and therefore drains quicker after rain. As for the area itself there is not much more I can say other than that we have stayed in this area on many occasion and still keep coming back. Our most favourite spot is Trebarwith Strand, but saying that all of the entire North Cornwall coastline can only be described as “magnificent". To sum up would I recommend this CL? Absolutely, would I recommend the area?….you betcha! We are coming back next year.

Campervan in Cornwall

Very friendly and clean site. Good facilities and helpful information sheets about the locality provided by the owner. A lovely site to stay on to access the north Cornish coast which is spectacular.
