Perfect CL

We spent 8 nights at this lovely CL in July. We had a friendly welcome from Camilla and had the choice of how we wanted to site our van. The site is imaculate, it is slightly sloping but this was not a problem for us. The toilets and shower are spotless. We could pick up Wi Fi which was an advantage. The site is well situated for the coast, Tintagel and Bocastle also Bodmin Moor. There is a Coop in Camelford for supplies. There are plenty of places to eat in both Boscastle and Tintagel. We hope to return before too long.

Lovely site in good location

Let me say to start off that although we have only rated this site 4* for overall rating and peace and tranquility it would be 4.8 if we could give that. Only two minor problems are that it is sloping and adjoins a main road and our long van was quite difficult to site on the slope. However now I know the owner does not mind at what angle you site your van it will not be a problem in the future. We hardly noticed the traffic as it is hidden by high Cornish banks. It is however beautifully maintained and the WC's and shower is kept spotless. The owners were very friendly and helpful and it was great to find two lovely old bay mares in the field behind our pitch. Even though it is only a 5 van CL they have 9 pitches and electric hook ups so there is always plenty of space with views over the fields to the sea about 2 miles away. Loads to do and see in the area and if you are into visiting Churches then Boscastles Minster Church is worth seeking out, a real gem in a most unusual location.

Beautiful & welcoming

We have just had a short stay at Venndown, This is the first cl site we have stayed at & we will definitely be returning soon. Excellent facilities 2 washrooms & a shower room, plenty of room in the shower for us bigger people !!! Kept immaculately. Very friendly welcome, Quiet, clean & peaceful beautiful site. Great location too, 2 miles from Boscastle, 3 miles from Tintagel, Newquay, Perranporth & Truro are all less than an hour away. The owners could not have been more helpful, thank you so very much for everything you did for us.

A Great Choice

The site and facilities are kept beautifully. It is well sign posted at the entrance and the driveway lined with primroses was delightful. The field is closely mown and some levelling blocks are needed.   The owners live adjacent to the field and were at hand if we needed them, we didn't.  Tintagel, Camelford, Boscastle and many coastal beaches are a short pleasant drive with Bude to the north and Padstow to the south a slightly longer drive away.  There is a view of the sea - but you have to have good eyesight. It really is too distant to be classed as an attraction.  A fairly busy, but not major, road passes the sight. A lot of the traffic is rural ie tractors etc. We did not find the road noisy enough to disturb and it made for easy driving to and from the site when heading out for day trips.  The site suited us perfectly. If that part of Cornwall is our destination again this site will be seeing us return.

Excellent CL

We spent a the second week of our summer holiday here in August, we liked it so much we've booked to go back for two weeks next year! Site is clean, and well maintained, including all the facilities; showers were very useful on returning from the beach to get all the kids clean at one go! Friendly, helpful owners. It's a beautiful area of Cornwall with lots to see and do.

A credit to the caravan club

Our stay here in August was great. The site was easy to find and access plus it's a superb base for travelling round the area. Facilities are kept immaculate and more than sufficient for users. The whole family are very welcoming and are a credit to the caravan club. We would definaty recommend them.

Lovely except for the Dog Poo

We received a lovely warm welcome from the owners upon arrival. Left to settle in, toilets were immaculate and showers too, and were cleaned multiple times daily. We feel there ought to be a sign up saying about dog poo, because the second day new people arrived and the day after and we were doing all we could to dodge it. It was really horrible we have two young children, who were dodging poo in the play area too. I don't get how they deem it unacceptable to leave it on a street corner but when on holiday they leave it for the kids to tread in. This was the only down side to the site. I feel something needs to be said.

Response from the CL Owner:

Thank you for your review. We are really sorry about the dog mess that was being left on the site. Unfortunately we were not made aware of this otherwise we would have acted immediately to rectify the situation. We expect any owner who brings a dog to Venndown to clean up after it, and indeed this has always been the case, up until now. We hope this will not deter you from staying with us again, and we will be checking the site regularly whilst visitors have dogs with them to avoid this in the future. Richard Parsons

Family friendly.

Lovey site located near Boscastle. Good access to local attractions including nearby Tintagel Castle. Really friendly owners who keep the toilet/shower facilities spotlessly clean. Small play area a big hit with the children.
