Wonderful - and quiet!

Glorious site, immaculate with huge views and beautifully quiet at night. Everything you need - EHU, wate disposal, water. Next time we'll make time to follow one of the waymarked walks. We were on pitch 1 which had a bit of a slope, nothing major. we used our ramps as well as maximising the self-levelling in our van. Definitely our new go-to when heading north. Thanks Lucy.

Peaceful site.

A lovely well kept site with wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. A great welcome and good signposted walks through a working farm in spectacular countryside. We were fortunate to visit towards the end of lambing and were shown the pet lambs in their sheltered barns. Majority of lambs with their mums in the fields were fun to watch frolicking about.

Our favourite CL

We have just finished our second visit at Bairnkine. An amazing location on the top of a hill on a working farm, although there is no noise or disturbance from the farm. There are 5 stoned, hardstanding pitches which are on a slope so you will need to level up a fair bit. Our front wheels were on the top of our Milenco Quattro's and it was fine. There are no washing/showering facilities here so you do need your own, but the essentials of metered electricity, black & grey waste, fresh water and recycling are available. We are big fans of metered electricity rather than a blanket cost where some are paying for other so heat awnings etc. 10Kwh is included in the daily rate and you can top up if need be. Guests are welcome to explore the farm, but unfortunately we had no time. Perhaps on our next visit. Lucy from the farm is a caring host. We approached her with some specific issues that we are going through due to family illness and she was most obliging. The site is open and access is unrestricted day or night, which was useful to us, given the current circumstances. If you are a fan of Dark Skies, this site is amazing. It is many years since I have seen the night sky as vividly as I saw here last week. Constellations and the Milky Way were very clear and even satellites were visible. If you want a nice peaceful stay in the Borders with zero traffic noise, no crowds and just unadulterated peace & quiet, do yourself a favour and book in here

April visit

Spent four days using this as a base to visit the border towns.the site is quiet and peaceful, lots of birdlife. It was lovely listening to the blackbirds whistling away at the end of the day. We were in pitch five with a caravan and we needed blocks of wood to level the caravan as there is quite a slope( three blocks per front leg and three for the jockey wheel). The site owners were lovely and they explained all about the lambing. All in all we had a lovely time and will definitely visit this site again

Easy access even for large caravans

Easy access and friendly owners. Ideal for a stop over on way to and from Scotland as well as local attractions. On our return journey we were able to see new born lambs in a barn,

Great place to stay

Spent 4 nights here over Easter in a 7.5m motorhome. Great hardstanding pitches with easy access from A68. Very quiet (lots of birdsong) with lovely far reaching views. Very friendly and helpful owners. A choice of signposted walks round the farm with small information boards on the way. Just 10 minutes from Jedburgh where there is parking for motorhome. Can also cycle in ( e-bike) but along the A68 but can ride some of it on pavement. But there are also lots of lovely routes round quiet small roads for bike rides. 10 units of electricity per night included in cost. Total units added to your pitch on arrival and so easy to see how much you are using/ have left. This was enough for our stay but had it run out more can be purchased and added. Would go back.

Nice and peaceful

A last minute decision to get away for a couple of nights. What a great choice. Easy to find, water supply and grey water emptying ( need a waste pipe for motorhome). Pretty level and for me with and 8.6m Dethleffs, plenty of space. Will go back again to enjoy the tranquility.
