Bairnkine was absolutely perfect for our needs. The ease of access and the hard standing set into the side of the shallow hillside allowed us stunning views and to experience the wildlife to its best. Quiet, peaceful and would certainly use again.
I would also like to add that Matt and Lucy helped us significantly with our self incurred problem and put us in touch with the right solution in speedy time whilst treating us very fairly. Very much appreciated.
Lovely find
This was our first stay at The Bairnkind. What a lovely site . Yes slightly sloping but we didn’t bother putting choks up.
Stunning views across the countryside. Quiet peaceful. Swallows . Sandmartins flying around. Beautiful setting.
We only had time for one visit but we will definitely be returning.
A very warm welcome.
Electricity and water to hand
spring/summer holiday
excellent booking in system, your name and pitch on the gatepost. We were a bit worried about the working of the electrity charge but we were assured by Lucy that there was ample to see us through our stay. The only problem we encountered was the main road ,the A68 was closed for 2 weeks giving us a lenthy journey home.

Perfect CL
A lovely CL in pristine condition. Slightly sloping hard standing with ehu, quiet and peaceful. Lucy was welcoming and helpful and we would stop again.
What a great site, will stay again.
This CL is fantastic… Great location, good access roads, and most importantly… Its peaceful, with beautiful views.
Recently stayed on site for 3 nights and we will definitely stay again.
Pitches are well spaced, on a slight slope, but nothing that can’t be overcome by fully extending legs, or adding blocks. Each night stay you get 10 units of electric, we found this more than adequate and had our heating on, multiple appliances etc. there is the option to purchase more, but if you’re sensible, no need to. There is only 1 water point, but again not an issue, its visible and you can see when its in use.
There are multiple walks directly from the site, with an abundance of wildlife and farm animals to observe.
If you stay I would recommend going into Jedburgh, and Otterburn. Galashiels isn’t too far either, so plenty to visit.
Thank you Matt and Lucy for a wonderful stay.
Thank you so much Bairnkine
Wonderful kind people here. Thank you so much for your help. We would have been completely stuck without you !
Hopefully back for a longer stay next time to see more countryside and get some more lamb burgers.

Great stay mid winter Jan 2024
Really good communication and welcome email. Site well maintained in rural isolation.
Peace
We returned for the weekend as we needed peace and recharge the batteries
Lovely site with great walks from the site. Jedburgh is a short ride away with cafés restaurants and bars if you feel the need.
We will be back again
Just how we like them !!!!
Just spent a very peaceful 4 nights here and had it all to ourselves. Great communication with the owners and the site consist’s of 5 hard standing pitches with absolutely outstanding views across Border country. Normal stuff..water, elsan point and recycling on site. Not far at all off the A68, so perfect for us as we were heading back south just to hop off and on the main road again…perfect.
Lovely autumn break
Lovely, peaceful site with views and friendly owners. We stayed for two well-timed weeks in October, arriving the day after storm Agnes and leaving in the aftermath of storm Babet. We used a combination of gas and electric for water and heating and did not need to top up the electricity. Would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
