First CL and we found a little gem

As per the title, our first CL experience and have to say, ticked all the boxes. Two parts, the CL and the new field, both have electric and water. The CL part has one permanent unit on it so it can look like there are 6 pitches and not 5 to those who can't be bothered to find out and rate accordingly. We knew we were on the field, can accommodate 10 but for the now, only 5 are in use. We had pitch 1 and the view overlooking the filed is wonderful and we were very lucky to see a hare across from the back of site past us and onward to the field. Rachel wasn't there when we arrived but we were met and sorted so nae bother on that front. When she arrived back, she come across and explained things that we needed to know. Two toilets but the now means only one to be used at any time, sanitiser outside the block to use pre and post, recycling and chemical waste point. There is no shower so again, you can't be shown where it is - see a previous review, a shower is not listed in the facilities! Short walk to the river and two walks circular walks from that point along the river and then inland, each passing the pub. The pub, The Red Lion, has seating outside, 5 tables and a garden at the back of the car park which is not obvious. Plenty of tables inside, all socially distanced. Food good, fish & chips from me, chicken ceasar salad for my partner, one of the best she has had and generous amount of chicken. No grips at all with mine, light battered fish, my preference rather than crunchy.Price wise, food ÂŁ20 for the two, drinks, ÂŁ15 from 3 medium Pinots and two cans of Coke (driver). Thatchers Gold on tap and some local ales plus all the usual spirits and wines. and all reasonably priced, All in all, a captive audience and it does it well, very pleasant staff, service and good quality plus they do take-aways if that is your thing. Enjoyed our stay, very peaceful and relaxing and plan to return in September or possibly October or may be even both!

An absolute gem of a site

We stayed here for a week, could have stayed for ever. Huge pitch, could position ourselves whatever way round we wanted to be. Brilliant helpful owners who didn't mind us putting up our "garden" to keep our dogs in. Basic facilities but clean and had Covid precautions in place. Miles and miles of beautiful walks straight from site, local pup up the road. Quiet, peaceful, immaculate, what more can I say, we lived it and will not hesitate to go back

Disappointed

Having read previous reviews we were looking forward to a few days on this site. However the reality left a lot to be desired. When we arrived there were already 5 units on the site. This was not just someone staying an extra night as one left the following day and another took it's place. This was conscious over booking. Welcome was rushed and we were not shown, and never found, the shower. Had the potential to be a great site but first impressions count and we will not be going back.

Comment from the Community Manager

The CL Owner has been in touch as she would like to address your concerns. She is sorry that you are not enjoying your stay at Passage Farm, they work hard to welcome their guests around COVID restrictions and busy farming activities. I am afraid you were not shown showers as they don’t have any, that is a misprint in the Site handbook, and their own advertising clearly states there are no showers. We apologise for the misunderstanding. They had planned to put in showers, but COVID has rather slowed up the progress both in terms of planning and finance, hopefully its still a plan for 2021.With regards to 6 Vans, the matter has been passed to our CL Team.

Finally, Rachel, the CL owner advised it has been a strange year for us all and we have all faced many different situations, we would love to see you back at Passage Farm in what will hopefully be “normal” circumstances.

Peaceful, spacious site

Just had 4 nights in the new field, really big pitch with EHU and water tap. The view from our pitch was beautiful. Quiet and peaceful site, small fishing lake on site for fun fishing. Lots of local walks and pub with walking distance, that is currently doing deliveries. Owner Rachel friendly and helpful, would recommend and will be visiting again.

Still Fab.

Have been coming to this site for many years under the ownership of Laraine and David. Back again for 8 nights under new ownership of Rachel and Phil plus famy. Happy to report still fab, peaceful, beautiful, well kept regularly cut grass etc. Have no hesitation in recommending this site. I am a wheelchair user and the site is flat. Lots of flat walks along the Sharpness canal. I know Rachel and Phil have plans ... Watch this space! All the very best to Rachel, Phil and family plus Ben. See you again in November! Beautiful peaceful CL

Following a recommended from another CMC club member we booked into Passage Farm for two days. The site is incredibly spacious with both grass and hard standing pitches. A short walk takes you to the Severn and the area is wonderful for cycling on quiet peaceful lanes. The path on the canal to Gloucester was however a rough surface and we didn’t bother with it. Frampton on Severn is a few miles away with a shop, pub and restaurants. If you want peace and quiet, spacious pitches this is the place for you. We will return.

Excellent site, ,

Excellent well maintained site with all the facilities of a super pitch. The site owners are very nice people, helpful and considerate. There are great and varied walking routes from the site, along with a couple of good (but not cheap) pubs/restaurants. Shops are not near, but that is a major appeal of the site. We will certainly be back.

Still fabulous

Just returned from our latest stay and met the new owners. Glad to say nothing has changed and it still remains in our top 5 CL list. Good luck to Rachel and family and thank you for continuing to provide a peaceful and well run site.

Fab Site

This is the first time we have stayed at this CL but will most certainly be back. We spent the bank holiday here. We were welcomed by the wardens who were very helpful with local knowledge. There is plenty of room to spread out, lovely cut grass. Lots of long and short dog walks, the owner told us that any field that had 10ft around the edges cut belonged to her and we could walk around any of them. You can also go up onto the river bank and walk along there to the village where there is an excellent pub which welcomes dogs inside, they even provide dog treats for them.
