Super CL in lovely part of the country

We have just had a couple of nights on this super CL. The site is in a great location with open views over the country. The pitches are effectively fully serviced with EHU, water and grey water drain to each one. The shower and WC look new and are spotless. We really enjoyed our stay and can highly recommended it.

Ideal C.L.

We stayed in June for our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised with the welcome from Rachel and the overall top quality of the site. Toilets spotless, shower clean and spacious and nice level hardstandings and mown and collected grass! A perfect site. Thank you to Rachel.

Peaceful, Small & Rural site.

We really enjoyed our three nights at New Barn Farm in our camper. Rachel was very helpful with local knowledge and happy to help in anyway she could to make our stay enjoyable. The simple facilities were well kept and completely adequate. Overlooking beautiful pastureland and often a peaceful herd of milking cows only added to the relaxed position of this site. Walking on the Fosse Way was just a short stroll, and Malmesbury , 3 miles away, with its lovely Abbey House Gardens which were a highlight.(Thanks Rachel for mentioning them!). Would definitely recommend and return.

Perfect CL

An amazing location on working farm. Great facilities on each pitch which are extremely spacious. Beautiful walks especially for dog owners. There is nothing not to like. A lovely warm welcome by owners and nothing too much trouble.

Wonderful CL!

Chose this CL as it appeared to meet all the criteria we were looking for as well as having all the facilities we like e.g. EHU, shower and toilet. It also had great reviews and was very reasonably priced. Would we be disappointed? Absolutely not. What a cracking CL this is. Easy to find, easy access, big flat pitches in a beautiful peaceful location and the site was immaculately kept. Owners very friendly and helpful, will provide you with maps for the local walks. Sherston is the nearest village, approx 1.5 miles from site, which has two lovely cafes and one pub which, at the time of our 3 night trip, was only open Thursday to Sunday so we were unable to visit, but looked very nice from the outside. Jonathan, one of the owners, went above and beyond in helping us with our grey waste disposal by providing us with piping to connect the tank straight to the drain (each pitch has its own grey waste disposal point) as the tap for our tank had fallen off en route! In addition, on departure we discovered the van battery was flat so had to call upon Jonathan again to save the day by giving us a jump start! All service was provided with a smile😀 Can't recommend this CL enough and would certainly use again.

great site

Arrived for a long weekend stay. Met by Rachel on the way in and chatted for a while before pitching up. All pitches have electric hook-up hard standing, grey waste and fresh water. The pitches are well spread out to give a good degree of privacy if required. Site is next to the road but only seemed to be the odd car passing now and again. Excellent area if you wish to cycle as cycle routes with nice quiet lanes are dotted all around. Walking is also catered for with plenty of footpaths. Eating out? The Vine Tree at Norton and Rattlebone at Sherston, tried both and excellent meals at both venues. Sherston or Norton, only 1.5 miles away, in opposite directions, so an easy 30 minute walk along the lanes if you leave the car on site. Would we return? This is a brilliant site with all the facilities you need.... including shower and toilet, above and beyond CL expectations!! Great views, quiet, everything in it's favour....yes we will and many thanks to Rachel and Jonathan for all their hard work!!

Brilliant!

Stayed on this CL for 4 nights just before 'Lockdown2'; what a find. As stated in previous reviews this is a new CL but top marks for Rachel and Jonathon for the work they have put in. Each pitch is large, flat, hard standing with it's own EHU, fresh water and waste facilities and the way the site is laid out everyone gets a view across the fields. The shared facilities were very clean with loads of hand sanitisers in appropriate places including at the entrance gate. The site is on a quiet country lane which sees very little traffic apart from a couple of tractors so it is very peaceful and quiet. It is an easy walk or cycle into Sherston which has a little shop for essentials, a brilliant coffee shop now called The Courtyard, and two pubs. We only ate in The Rattlebones which served good food but the other pub looked nice from the outside. We cycled into Malmesbury, Tetbury and to Westonbirt Arboretum; we are 'friends of Westonbirt' but I believe they give a discount on the daily price if you cycle. Rachel was very approachable and friendly; came to meet us when we arrived, made sure we settled in and found everything, and offered information about the local area. Overall a brilliant CL we couldn't fault and we believe they have plans to improve the site further. We will definitely be back!

The future

Although this fledging site has only been open approx 6 weeks the large number of positive reviews it has already received are all merited. It is sites like this that I feel are the future of the club, as a member since 1986 it is not quite the best (yet) but hopefully in time it will be. All of the reasons why one may use a CL are ticked... views, peace, walks, cycling on and off road, the countryside (smells as well), whilst only 40 minute walk to a pub along quiet lanes. Linked to a lovely host this site has it all. (‘but you do need a 15m hose to link straight to your van from your private tap) I would like to think we will return, but Rachel’s booking diary is filling fast!

Top Marks All Round!!

Just returned from an excellent stay at this new CL. Booking via email was straightforward and Rachel was on hand when we arrived to give us any relevant information. Large, level hard standing pitches which are serviced with EHU, water and waste. Small block housing shower and toilet (we didn't use them but they looked very clean). Lovely views across the farm fields - great to see the cows coming in and out for milking. Plenty of walking straight from the site - lots of quiet lane but Sherston is a bustling little village. All in all, a lovely CL - we shall return (if we can get in).
