We'll be back!
Back from a short weekend (postponed from last year) at this site. It's less than an hour from home for us and we wanted somewhere to go with the dogs to escape firework noise. There were organised displays in nearby Luckington and Malmesbury but barely audible and far enough away to not worry the furry ones. Large well spaced hardstanding fully serviced pitches. Beautifully clean facilities (one loo and one shower room with loo). Small area for morning and late night doggy ablutions. Fantastic views and open site which would get plenty of sun in summer. Very peaceful with hardly any traffic on the lane behind.
Well cut grass with clippings collected. A few picnic tables dotted about. Fresh eggs for sale. Very friendly owner. The Bridge Indian Restaurant in Sherston will deliver for £1. Very tasty it was too. A number of pubs in walking distance across fields and footpaths. There are absolutely loads of paths from the site including bits on the Fosseway and old Roman Settlements and another route which takes you through a wonderful stud farm. Plenty to do in the area with Malmesbury, Tetbury and Westonbirt Arboretum to name just a few trips out. Definitely going to be a regular site for us if we can get in!
