Lovely Small CL

We stayed here for one night on our way home from Dorset. We received a very warm welcome from owner Jane. The approach road to the site if you follow the directions in the handbook are narrow, but there are plenty of passing places. The site is kept mown and clippings collected, and is mainly flat, which makes setting up easy for caravans and Motorhomes. The CL is situated between two ponds with water lilies, coots and a duck, and there are fish in the ponds. A tranquil site, although quite small. Caravans seemed to have to park their cars in a separate car park. There were five on the CL, but there are several nooks and crannies where there were several other touring vans sited. There is also a static van on the CL. There are toilets and showers provided. However, we didn’t use them due to the pandemic situation. Overall a nice CL, but did feel a bit crowded with other vans sited at the property.

Wonderful site to enjoy fascinating flora and fauna.

A gorgeous site with everything to enjoy relaxing with nature at your feet, literally. After the slightly nerve -racking journey down extremely narrow road we arrived at Moorlands and shown by the very friendly Jane to an idealic spot to pitch up. We have loved the diversity of plants and wildlife from the most amazing array of dragonflies, long-tailed tits, kingfisher, etc, etc. As a keen wildflower lover I have added two new species to my photographic collection, Rose of Peru or Shoo Fly and Celery Leafed Buttercup. Steve has been very infirmative and helpful about the fishing but unfortunately for my partner the fish were elusive despite his best efforts and variety of baits. After a very noisy site near Taunton this has been sheer heaven. We hope to come again next year.

Lovely CL

Had a fantastic 7 night stay mid July. Met by Jane and shown a perfect pitch with views over one of the lakes, soon we had a lovely cup of tea as we set up. The site is very well maintained. The weather was perfect and we appreciated the sunsets over the lake as well as the cooling breeze. The dogs loved the walk around the lake. There are plenty of supermarkets that are easily accessible when you head towards Weston-Super-Mare. Bristol, Cheddar Gorge and Wells are easily to drive to to name a few. We would highly recommend this site.

Best site we have stayed at!!

Truly superb site! We stayed for two nights, and plan to go back for a longer stay. Jane gave us a warm welcome, offered us a cuppa and showed us where all the facilities were. Great facilities, which were kept clean at all times. Jane was always around to help us with anything we needed, without being intrusive. When we were out for the day and it rained, she kindly saved our chairs and dog beds from getting wet! Lovely person to have a chat with! Jane's husband showed me to all the best spots to look out for wildlife, and they have a great variety! I got to see a Kingfisher!! The site is extremely peaceful, quiet and relaxing, though we are not into fishing, it was so nice enjoying a cup of coffee looking over the lakes. The site is also in a great location, with so much to explore. Sonia and Tim, Roger and Moneypenny

First time stay

For my husbands Birthday I booked a relaxing weekend break at Moorland farm, as he enjoys fishing. Jane showed us to a great little secluded spot to park up our motor home, then went off to make us a coffee. My husband was fishing in the lake within a hour, he caught some nice sized Bream and Tench, I sat and relaxed with a good book and a glass of wine.Steve came around a gave some helpful advice. Good facilities for site size. Thank you Jane for making us feel very welcolme, we wished we could have stayed longer, I'm sure we will be making a return visit in the future. Carol

Lovely place to chill.

Just got back from 7 days at Moorland Farm. Absolutely superb. Greeted by Jane who showed us to our pitch & then offered us a cup of tea which I have never been offered in all my years of caravanning. Our pitch was right next to the fishing lake. We met Steve who gave me plenty of advice & help about the fishing. There is a good variety of fish in the lake for those that do fish including the Moorland Monster that Steve is hoping to be caught soon. The lane to the site is narrow but ok. Best to use the owners directions & not rely on sat nav. Once again many thanks Jane & Steve for a great stay & can't wait until our next visit. Sorry Steve, yes we will be back.

Melt your stress in 30 minutes

Jane met us at the entry to the site, which despite being a narrow lane for about 2.5 miles, was easy to navigate to. This natural wildlife and fisherman's haven is perfect to relax at, and we were not felt 'overlooked' by any other vans on site. Jane was so hospitable, made me a lovely cup of tea after our arrival and that was much appreciated! Great local knowledge of places of interest to us, however the plan was to chill and just let our busy work life melt away. Which, thanks to the site, host and other caravaners on site, did the trick! Site has sole use separate toilets for men/women and a single shower room (honesty box for 50p charge), and even though we have our own shower in our van, we still paid and used as that's part of the experience. The shower room could do with a revamp in the way of decorating and cobweb removal, however water was good pressure and hot, which is more important. Do note: bring green toilet fluid as all organic on site. Have booked to return for September, and hope that we see the moorhens chicks, all grown up. Just perfect site for adults wanting a relaxing site. I can see this is somewhere we will return to, time and time again.

Swan Lake

Just had a wonderfull week at one of the best CL around, Met on arrival by Jane and allocated a pitch alongside one of her two large ponds, she then appeared with two coffees as a little welcome after our journey, a complete site briefing was given, she was very well organised and is enviromental friendly on all things waste is seperated into indivudual containers, There is also a shower and seperate toilet facilities on site, car parking is away from the pitch locations which only enhances the tranquility and peacefullness of this site, Very handy for Western S mare, Burnham on Sea and chedder gorge, The nesting Swans on the pond immediatly to our front had been waiting a while for eggs to hatch, birds of note in easy sight, spotted woodpeckers, coots, moore hens Mallards, Geese, goldfinch variouse tits .Fishermen fill your boots, great site will be back.
