Excellent site

Beautiful, peaceful, well maintained site and owners on hand to greet you upon arrival what is not to like? Plenty to see and do within walking distance of site and public transport available to take you further afield if required (perfect for leaving motorhome on site). All in all a very enjoyable 4 night stay and we look forward to visiting again in the near future.

They even rake the pitches!

This is a fantastic CL and adjoins an equally fantastic small Caravan Site. It is level, really well laid out and immaculately kept. Fully Serviced pitches. They even rake the hardstanding pitches so the gravel is in a neat pattern between arrivals. I have never seen bins so clean! The owners work hard to keep the site looking good. There is free Wi-Fi. Just adjacent is a large enclosed dog walking field and a dog/muddy boot shower. There is a well stocked information hut where you can borrow paperbacks. No shower or toilet block, but we all learned in COVID that we didn’t need one! Depending on which pitch you are on, you may need a longer than usual length of blue hose to reach your tap but I think the owners keep spare kit if you are struggling. It is an easy walk into Deeping St James. The walk to Market Deeping is a little longer but all on the level. Lots to do in the area. We will be back.

Very peaceful and well maintained site

We have recently returned from a 3 night stay at this lovely site. The grounds are kept immaculate and flowers are lovely. It was good to have a fully serviced pitch and our 2 dogs appreciated the large dog walking field. Very detailed information was sent to us beforehand and although the do’s and don’ts did look a little off putting at first glance, it was all pretty obvious. The owners are really lovely people, very helpful yet unobtrusive and easily accessible if you need anything. There are some lovely walks from the site along the river into the village. There are a number of pubs in the pretty village but unfortunately none of them served food. The Warterton Arms used to but no longer has a chef. However there are several pubs in Market Deeping where you can get a meal. It’s a longer walk or a drive away. We loved this site and will definitely return.

Best maintained site.

We have just stayed at Keal Lodge for a week. This has to be the best kept CL ever. The owners work very hard to keep the grounds immaculate. However the site is very peaceful and relaxed. The booking process is very efficient and all contact with the owners was friendly and we were welcomed on arrival. The site is secure. The walk along the river into town is lovely and easy.

Lovely Site, lovely river walks and Town

We have just spent 3 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed it. We used to live in the area, so it has been a trip down memory lane. The site is lovely, tranquil and it is super to really hear the birds and as a consequence we have slept really soundly. The handover was really good and very welcoming. The site is really well maintained with a great dog walking area. It is a really flat area so you can walk for miles or cycle if you wish to. We can really recommend The Stage for food which is dog and children friendly and backs onto the river. There are lovely river walks to and from the site but you can also walk conventionally along pavements through Deeping st James. The town is thriving with lots of independent shops and eateries and a good butchers. Toninos is a super Italian restaurant- do book though as they are only open a few nights a week. There are bus services to Stamford, Peterborough and Spalding from the town. This is a lovely site to just be and go and do as you wish to.

A week at Keal Lodge

We recently spent a week at this lovely site. Pitches are arranged around a central area of trees and shrubs, all facing away from each other with the services in the middle. Because of the position of our water inlet and the location of the taps we had to use the extension hose for our Aquaroll adapter. Cars are parked in an area slightly away from the caravan pitches. Because we put our porch awning up we didn’t need to store our chairs in the car (if we were on a site with facilities we’d store them in the shower), so this wasn’t an inconvenience. All pitches are pea shingle hardstandings surrounded by well kept grass. In spite of the heavy rain the grass remained in a good, firm condition. The information room contains lots of useful leaflets etc. Although the owners also have a small caravan site behind the CL, which also looked very nice, we weren’t disturbed by other site users. The only reason I have marked down for peace and tranquility was due to the jet aircraft noise (air force?) on some days. Of course this is nothing to do with the site owners, but something to be aware of, especially if you have nervous dogs. I found it useful to write out the arrival route on a sheet of paper to follow, and to check out the route on Google Earth & street view in advance of the journey. We would definitely stay at Keal Lodge again. Thank you to the owners.

Lovely Stay

Just spent a very relaxing 3 nights here. Our second visit, first time on the cl section of the site. Very spacious pitches, all with water, EHU and drainage. The owners are lovely family, friendly and very helpful. There is a good information hut cum book library on site. Easy walk into the village on the lane/pavement or a slightly longer walk in along the river. Decent pub The Waterton Arms. Had a nice lunch. Not open for food everyday so do check first. Carry on along the river into Market Deeping for more pubs and eateries. Good fish restaurant there, Linfords. A visit to the antique centre is a must if you like curios etc. No toilet or showers but we are happy to use our own. All in all a very well set up and well run site. We will definitely be back again soon.

Just what was needed

Just returned from a blissful week at Keal Lodge. Wonderful welcome and lots of good information about local walks etc. The dog walking field was much appreciated by our puppy and the round trip to the river and back was a lovely walk. The site is immaculate, quiet and well deserves the accolades it has achieved. Lots of local places to visit within a few miles.

A hidden gem

If your looking for a peaceful relaxing site, this is it. Absolutely no traffic noise. The site is very well maintained and the owners couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. The pitches are level, fully serviced and do not overlook others and are hedge screened perfectly. The site is very secure as can only be accessed with fob when checked in. Stayed here for 6 nights mid October and would definitely return. Easy to see why the site has won the awards that it has. Many thanks Carol and Gordon

Spotless site

We stayed here on serviced pitch for 3 days at the beginning of October. Glad we followed the suggested route to the CL as the narrow roads on alternative routes would be problematic. On arrival the site has two CL fields both absolutely spotless, clearly this CL is very well maintained in all aspects (however no toilet/shower facilities on site). I was a bit overwhelmed by the crib sheet on all the do's and don'ts however most of this was common sense. The pitches are of a generous size and very well laid out. Good dog walking paddock adjacent to the site. Well maintained rubbish and chem disposal points. Lovely and quiet at night, although we could hear very distant early morning traffic in the mornings (perhaps dependent on wind direction). The only slight downside for us was not being able to park our vehicle next to the unit as we use the car for storage and dog related bits and pieces and as we were unfortunate to have a full day of rain got a good soaking with our trips to/from the car, however this is only our personal preference and does not detract from the quality of the site. Good local walks nearby and if we return to the area we would certainly consider coming back here.
