We have just returned after a week at Orchard Meadow, we were made very welcome and given plenty of useful information. The facilities were excellent, really great to have your own water tap, great to see the efforts made in relation to recycling waste. There is also an information hut which we found useful. The peace and tranquility was second to none. Great location to use a base for touring the Cotswolds or for relaxing, we would definitely recommend the site and will be looking at returning in the near future.
best cl ever
This was the nicest cl site we have been on. Very well kept and attractive , very convenient to have own water tap. Owners very welcoming and helpful and very convenient for village of Bibury and Chedworth Roman Villa. Would definitely visit again if in area.

Very nice CL in a beautiful setting. Perfect for exploring Bibury, within short drive of many Cotswold gems like Cirencester, Stow-on-the-Wold
Perfect for exploring Bibury by foot, within short drive of many Cotswold gems like Cirencester, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh with its Tuesday market.
Nice welcome on arrival from the owners, with an information sheet containing two local walks. Many more walks available directly from the site.
Peaceful, with very good access, spacious pitches.
The only downside is that dogs are not allowed, which might restrict the number of the caravaners wanting to stay there. On the other hand, if you haven't got a dog, you are not likely to be disturbed by barking :)
An excellent CL
Finding and accessing Orchard Meadow is straightforward; swing open the entrance gate and there is plenty of room to manoeuvre even the largest rig onto the spacious meadow. A notice just inside the entry informs you which pitch you have been allocated. It is a level, grass site with plenty of space between pitches. Each pitch has its own water and electricity. Julie reminded us that we could orientate our caravan as we liked - front, back or side on to the meadow.
The grass was in excellent condition; Julie uses a grass catcher when mowing so we were not traipsing grass cuttings into the van. We were fortunate to enjoy some very hot sunny days. We found the edging trees, which are maturing nicely, provided very convenient shade.
On arrival, Julie gave us some useful handouts one of which included local walks. We are not great walkers but I completed the 3 mile circuit via Ablington and thoroughly enjoyed paddling in the stream beside the picturesque bridge over the River Coln.
On Sunday, we went to a delightful pub in Maisey Hampton for roast dinners. I do not think I have ever had a more tasty roast except from my wife, of course. The pork was so tender, it almost melted in my mouth. The quantity was such that we were glad we had skipped starters and we could not manage a dessert. And all at a very reasonable price.
Bibury is only a 20 minute walk away and is, for good reason, popular with tourists. Other obvious Cotswold honeypots such as Bourton on the Water, Stow on the Wold, Westonbirt Aboretum are all within a 30 minute drive.
For our essentials, we generally used the large Waitrose or Tesco Extra about 7 miles away in Cirencester.
This was our second stay at Orchard Meadow. It will not be our last.
Just lovely
Just back from a week at this site, not our first stay, and this one lived up to our previous visits. It won't be our last stay. We love that: the site is spacious, it has a dedicated water tap and electric for each pitch, and we always get a warm welcome. Wifi is basic and doesn't reach the far end of the site, which would be useful - but with 4G we were able to manage. We enjoy the easy access to walking paths and a relaxing atmosphere.
What’s not there to like?
We recently joined friends who were staying at Orchard Lodge (Hard standing) and Orchard Meadow (Grass) for an 8 day stay before continuing onto the Caravan Club site at Pembrey. We were on the Orchard Meadow site where we enjoyed closely mown grass (The site is approximately 1 ½ acres) and each of the large, marked pitches have 16 amp electric and individual mains water – don’t forget to bring your mains water connection.
Both sites have their own access to their respective sites– even towing a large twin axle caravan presents no problem. On arrival check the notice board to see your allocated pitch number – if your names not there you may have arrived at the wrong site!
We were made to feel most welcome by Peter and Julie – every evening Peter would come around for a chat and to ensure that we had no issues. There is an information room but at the time of our visit there were no books, information leaflets etc. due to Covid restrictions. As this is a working farm (we had the pleasure of seeing sheep dogs in training trying to round up sheep in the field behind our site) dogs are not accepted.
Bibury itself is approximately 1 mile from the CL and is certainly worth visiting. Orchard Meadow / Lodge are close to all the popular Cotswold tourist attractions including Bourton on the Water, Moreton in Marsh, Chipping Camden etc.
It is hardly surprising that Peter and Julie are already getting bookings for next year – this really is a lovely CL with extremely pleasant owners and we will certainly be returning there again.
Perfect for our first time
This was our first outing with our campervan and we could not have wished for a better introduction to our new lifestyle. We hope all future sites are as good as this is. Friendly owners, clean, spacious and hassle-free. We experienced all weathers and despite the heavy rain we requested an extra night on the spur of the moment. Julie was very accommodating so we extended our stay in the beautiful Cotswolds.
Excellent CL
Very well run and equipped site with friendly and helpful management. Ideal location for local walking and cycling and for visiting Cotswolds. Highly recommended.

Wonderful relaxing stay
We stayed here last month on an unusually hot and sunny weekend, it's such a restful site with beautiful countryside views on the outskirts of a pretty Cotswold village. The owner was very welcoming and friendly, as were our fellow campers. It's an easy walk along the roads from the site into Bibury, although the owner told us of the off road route we didn't try it. Spacious grass pitches have water and electric hook up. We had great fun at the Trout Farm, feeding the fish, there's plenty of space and tables there for a picnic and brick built BBQs can be rented but they were very popular so probably book up in advance. Will definitely return.

Beautiful farmland near the most beautiful village
A most welcoming CL with flat grassy areas, well spaced and with electricity and water at each site. A short walk to the village of Bibury, said to be the most beautiful in England. Excellent all round
