Lovely little CL

Arrived for a 10 night stay. The owners Peter and Julie were very nice and extremely helpful, providing lot of information about local amenities and walks etc. The site itself was lovely and we were pleasantly surprised that each pitch had water as well as electric. As we were here for 10 nights this was extremely useful. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back!

Excellent Site

We had a very enjoyable 5 night stay at this CL. The site offers plenty of space & has good facilities including a tap and electric point for each pitch. The information hut contained lots of information and the waste water disposal area was a well maintained practical area. The meadow itself is a lovely area with well planted trees and mown grass. Peter was very welcoming & supplied useful local advice and a couple of handy mapped walks. We would highly recommend Orchard Meadow, as it offered us everything that we require from a campsite.

Best cl we've ever visited

We had arranged to night stop on our way back from Devon in July and planned to arrive by 11am as requested. The roads in Devon were extremely difficult when towing a caravan so we decided to leave the site very early. We phoned Julie to ask if we could arrive early and found her to be so understanding and helpful, even suggesting that we park at the top of the field if she couldn't manage to make our pitch available before 11am. We stayed here for a week at the beginning of June and we would highly recommend this CL - Julie and Peter are wonderful people, the site is beautifully maintained and nothing is too much trouble for them. My only hesitation in recommending them is that more people will be staying at this hidden gem and we will have difficulty booking!!! This is how all CL's should be run.

What a gem!

If you like peace and quiet then this is the place for you, we had just 2 nights here for a vintage steam show and will definitely go back. Immaculate flat field with easy access. Lovely welcome from Peter and great local information in the hut. Mains water to each pitch a bonus. Excellent value for money fir a first class site.

Utopian CL

This site has to be visited by you because it has changed our views on what a CL site can offer. Booking for 12 nights we were apprehensive, as traditional CL site facilities can be wearisome with constant filling and emptying of fresh and waste water due to only being able to use the caravan’s facilities. However, we purchased an Aquaroll water mains adaptor and a 4m length of waste pipe which meant the caravan was full plumbed in. The chemical point is very clean, close-by and easy to access, so not too much effort there either. The site was neatly mown with ample pitch spaces (see site images) Orchard Meadow represented a c.£17 per night saving over the nearby Burford Club Site, at that time of season. WiFi was available and free which was another unexpected bonus. This all meant we could indulge ourselves at local pubs and shop at Waitrose in nearby Cirencester. On the subject of food, we were given a sheet for ordering fresh vegetable by Peter when we arrived, they grow it all themselves and I have never eaten such fantastic tomatoes. They were a variety with very few seeds and my wife, who dislikes tomatoes generally, is now a fan. In addition, there were also excellent new potatoes, carrots and Cavolo Nero. Orchard Meadow is twenty minutes walk from the quintessential English village of Bibury, which if you Google you may recognise the honey-coloured cottages and possibly the fact Arlington row was used as a filming location for many films and series, both at home and abroad (Stardust with Robert De Niro is one). Bibury trout farm (https://www.biburytroutfarm.co.uk/) is also worth a visit, we spent some of our savings from the Club Site charges on lovely fresh and smoked trout from the shop there. The main draw for us was the location of Orchard Meadow CL as there is access to many footpaths from the site, which can all be used in various combinations to make excellent circular walks ranging from 3 miles up to whatever you body can handle. When we arrived Peter and Julie gave us pre-planned and printed walks in the welcome pack and these formed the basis for many happy walks in our time at the site. One very unexpected bonus for me was that The Classic Motor Hub (https://classicmotorhub.com/) in Ablington, a five-minute drive, has a wonderful shop, café and collection of cars ranging, when we visited, including (amongst others) a 1947 Maserati A6GCS plus various Aston Martins and Ferraris. I do want to say it was not only the ease of staying at this CL site due to excellent pitch facilities and its location but also because of the very welcoming, relaxed and professional way in which Peter and Julie run things. It was a fantastic site and we will be back to stay again.

One of our favourites

Easy to find and access, lovely flat site, electric and water on every pitch. Nice not to be bothered by dogs too...not everyone's a dog lover! This was our 3rd visit and certainly won't be our last. Pitch allocations are on the board by the gate, there are recycling bins by the information hut and CDP is screened off. Plenty of walks around, Bibury is just down the road, don't forget to drop into the Catherine Wheel.

Perfect

Must be one of the best CL's in the country. Easy access off a quiet lane to a beautiful flat grass field with plenty of space. All pitches have 16amp electric and a water tap with grey waste emptied into the hedge. Good CDP , rubbish bins and a nice information hut. Good WiFi that covers the first three pitches. Nice warm welcome from Peter with an information pack and order form for his home grown vegetables . Lovely views from the peaceful site and glorious walks straight from the CL. Only a short walk into glorious Bibury one of the jewels of the Cotswolds. Our first visit but it won't be our last, we normally stay at the Burford club site but this will be our go to local site.

Peaceful welcoming site.

Lots of local information about the history of area and walks were supplied by Peter on our arrival. We will be back to explore the area again as we were at a family wedding for most of our stay. Highly recommend a visit.

Lovely stay

Exccellent site with short grass, level and good access from road. Lovely welcome from Peter with plenty of local information, including a large scale map of the immediale area. We were booked on for a stop over returning from Cornwall and found the site very easily. Activity from aircraft from RAF Lynham (transports) but not at all intrusive but interesting. Some fresh produce available from Peter's garden. Bibury within walking distance but nearest small town for shopping is Fairford (coffee shops, Coop, Post Office, Butchers and lovely and very interesting church.

Lovely stay

We were warmly welcomed by Peter even though we were late arriving due to circumstances beyond our control.we had to leave earlier than anticipated because of problems at home and Julie credited us with the lost days.which we have now rebooked for October. Lovely peaceful site, plenty of room.looking forward to our re visit.
