August 2014

Such a peaceful setting, very welcoming host, not intrusive but on the other hand helpful.   Bird feeders we installed near our van visited by a variety of birds including nuthatch and all types of tit.  Also owls regularly tweeting making us realize we were deep in the country.

Another fab holiday

Recently back from this fabulous cl and yet again a totally wonderful stay. We can't find fault with this place. Annie is a wonderful character who does her utmost to ensure everything is as you want it. The facilities (if you want them) are brilliant. The site is immaculate in a fab location. Even Pavarotti the peacock ads to the entertainment (he doesn't like storms) ! Sorry tried to find a fault we really have - but no can do ! Well done Annie keep up the good work and see you again very soon we hope. If anyone moans about this site - well they just need to get a life !

ANOTHER HAPPY HOLIDAY

Once again we have just returned from yet another lovely holiday with Annie & Andy.Nothing is too much trouble, they are so kind and caring and helpful. The facilities are pristine and spotlessly clean. The grass is always cut short & collected unlike many sites and the bins are emptied.East Dunley is just so peaceful and tranquil. We stayed here with the previous owners over the years-however Annie & Andy have made so many improvements in the short time they have been here.We will return again & again & again just like many others we have met here do.Congratulations Annie & Andy all your hard work has paid off.!!!!

A lovely site but things to bear in mind

Really lovely welcome from owners, very friendly and very helpful. Easy access to site and beautiful surroundings. There are two possible negatives to mention. As the field is on a gradual slope, it does seem to become very water-logged after rain showers, so much so that our groundsheet in the awning did not dry out all week - making it not really easy to use as extra space. The field itself had muddy areas caused by cars going on and off the field. The other negative is the toilet disposal point - which is a cesspit with a lid. When emptying the toilet, the smell was awful and the splash back from a half-full tank of raw sewage was unpleasant and unhygienic. This could be easily remedied by the site owners and feedback on this is only given to be constructive. They do have a separate toilet block - containing two toilets and one shower, for which there is an extra charge per night to use.

What a find!!!

We have just had a wonderful week with Annie and Andy. The access was good and the site and facilities were spotless. We have two dogs of our own and we did not have a problem with plenty of places to walk off site. They both made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We will be back.

Just great

We were here late May and it is a great site. It IS dog friendly, Andy and Annie have dogs of their own, which are friendly and well behaved. Andy and Annie are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Access is very good with surfaced drive access, I had no problem with my 8 metre caravan and tow car. The site and facilities are very clean, and surroundings are lovely. It's a great location from which to explore the surrounding area. I recommend this site without any hesitation and will definitely go back there again.

DOG OWNERS BEWARE

We came here in April 14. Access is very tight, especially for large units (ours is a 5th wheel with an overall rig length of 40 feet)and we only just managed to get on and off. The site has very good facilities and is very quiet and peaceful. However, we have dogs and the site is definitely NOT dog friendly. Although the owners own a large field in front of the actual sites with no animals or crops, they do not allow access. Particularly strange as the closest place to walk dogs is about 500m away and is a piece of scrub land. In addition, you are not allowed to walk your dog around the site after 7.30am and only before then to give them somewhere to relieve themselves. The site doesn't seem to be well drained and we were put in the worst place on the site, despite it not being anywhere near full, because the owner was concerned about the grass being ripped up should we have to move when it was wet. We found the owners to be less than helpful and we got the impression that they were pleased when we decided to cut our over 3 week stay to 2 nights, we were not offered a refund on the 3rd night we had paid for. I recommend that the owners stop accepting dogs and large rigs as both things seem to upset them.

Excellent

We have just spent a very enjoyable short break at East Dunley. The CL field slopes gently but is mainly level, with good access and excellent facilities; there is a modest charge for use of the shower and toilets, both are spotlessly clean. There is recycling on site and good chemical disposal area. Dartmoor is a very short journey, as is Bovey Tracey, which has good village shops and pubs, our favourites was The Bell. We arrived in a very wet time, but the friendly owners did everything possible to make us welcome and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. The views from the site are lovely, and you can see Dartmoor through the trees. We would not hesitate to recommend this CL.

Superb site

This CL is one of the best we have used. The facilities are beautifully clean. Access is easy with no narrow lanes. The owners are friendly and helpful. The pitches are large, fairly level and with good views. Dartmoor is a short drive and Bovey Tracey even shorter. We had a great week.
