A little piece of caravan heaven

We booked on this sight for 7 nights in August and stayed for a further week as the site was so good. The CL field is beautifully maintained and the shower and toilet facilities are excellent. There was plenty of space in the field and you could almost feel the tranquility. There were many places to visit nearby and and the scenery is stunning. We certainly hope to return next Summer. Annie and Andy are both welcoming and helpful. Well done Annie & Andy - 10 out of 10 !

Excellent CL in great location

A Big Thank You for your warm welcome and kind hospitality and for all your hard work and for the lovely capacious caravan field in an idyllic countryside / farm location. The site itself and loos and shower and laundry room and other amenities are modern, comfortable spacious and spotless. The grass field is moderately sloping. This did not present any problems but levelling ramps are handy. The field is bordered by a mature oak wood on one side (green woodpeckers in the day, owls hooting by night) and a hay meadow on the other side. There are horse paddocks and the main house lies a few tens of metres away from the field beyond self-catering barn conversions. Views from the caravans are largely ringed with fields and vegetation, beyond which is glimpsed Hay Tor and the high Moor. Turning right out of the entrance takes you on a voyage of discovery up a classic Devon Lane which opens out onto high plateau farmland and continues rising to the picturesque and remote hilltop village of Hennock where the Palk Arms serves local ales and hearty meals and has peerless views over the Devon countryside. We also enjoyed the Claycutters Public House in Chudleigh Knighton. Turning left out of the entrance leads to heathland walks. Bovey Tracey (2.5 miles) is a busy and attractive Dartmoor town with a steep high street, riverside park and walks, cafes and local amenities. Access to the East Dunley site is from the A38 via wide and low stress local roads. I would personally suggest if towing a caravan, when approaching the site from the east on the A38 you might want to consider exiting at the main Bovey Tracey junction (A382) (large roundabout), then doing a 360 degree turn on the roundabout and coming back along the eastbound A38 carriageway for about a mile before exiting at the first available junction then turning left and then across the B3344. This route avoids the Chudleigh Knighton main street where parked cars might present a bit of a challenge to novice caravaners like us.

Our favourite so far!

We stayed on this sight for 10 nights in August and had a fabulous time. The CL field is beautifully maintained and the shower and toilet facilities are excellent. There is also a washing machine and dryer which is really useful with two young children. We had loads of space in the field for play and the woods at the back of the site provide lots of nature interest. There were loads of places to visit nearby and we certainly hope to return next Summer. Annie and Andy are both delightful and helpful.

Peaceful stay.

Just had 9 peaceful chilled nights on this great site. Plenty of space for vans to face any direction with out imposing on your neighbours. Washrooms not automatically included in pitch price, if you wish to use them £1.00 a day extra. At first not sure if I liked this idea. But, if you only use your van facilities you don't pay for the extras. We did use the washrooms , which are modern and kept immaculately clean. Washing machine /tumble dryer also situated in washroom. Easy access, no problem with narrow Devon lanes. Owners very friendly and helpful.  Good site to explore south coast and Dartmoor. Would love to return.

First Class CL

Warm welcome from friendly and helpful owners. Site is situated within easy reach of the main A38 but is quiet, peaceful and in a pleasant and tranquil rural setting. CL field is part sloping but we found easy to level our motorhome. The site and driveway are very well kept with regularly mown grass. Shower and toilet facilities are among the best we have ever found on a CL. We will probably return and would definitely recommend the site to others.

Holiday

Had an excellent 2 week holiday on this lovely site. Owners very helpful and understanding when we arrived after a long drive. The site was well kept and clean with re-cycling bins provided near to water tap. Easy access to all attractions near and far. Would definitely recommend and use again when in area.
