Stayed here for 6 nights and have to say without reserve this is the best little site Ive ever stayed on. Beautifully kept, pitches are all hard standing with hedges to screen, made me feel like I was in France! The facilities are spotless (and Im fussy), the added bonus of the table tennis and box of outdoor equipment, the wonderful welcome along with all the other little touches just make for a real gem. Just lovely. truly can't wait to go back, thank you!
What a great site
We stayed here again for three nights very recently en-route to North Yorkshire. I wrote a comprehensive review last time we stayed here and would say that in no uncertain terms the standards this time where as good as the last time. In addition to our last visit we headed to the Sunday Market at Silloth and picked ourselves a couple of bargains. Remember to go here armed with your crackers as the locally produced cheese at the dairy behind the site is a feature not to be missed and we were eating the cheese well into our stay in Harrogate.
This is a truly fab CL with great scenery, excellent access to the local area and points of interest and very well organised by the owners. We only wished we lived closer to spend more weekends here!
Hope to see you again soon!
Brilliant CL
Had an excellent 10 days with four other groups of friends at this great CL. The facilities were of a very high standard and the information given by Clair on our arrival was excellent. Nothing was too much bother to her. Will certainly be back for a visit.

Lovely site.
Impressed that owner confirms your booking details and relevant information by email. Gives you confidence that your pitch is booked.
Pitches divided with shrubs.
Owner very friendly and offers lots of information. Suggestion that she puts this onto sheets that can be given out as a lot to remember.
Shower and washroom very good standard. The only issue I had was when using shower light had gone out before I had finished in shower. This was reported to owner and quickly resolved. The shower and toilet are not located on site itself, but a short walk away. Good walks from site, one round the lake and another down private road both accessed from site and great for walking the dog.

Terrific
We are return visitors and will continue to return; this is the best in every way. Claire is charming, site upkeep amazing, loads of space, plenty hot water for shower, easy to get to so many places and the Royal Oak at Curthwaite is not to be missed, local food cooked to perfection.
Fabulous site!!!
We stayed here in August and loved every minute of it. The site is lovely and peaceful and each pitch is well laid out. Claire was very friendly and welcoming, This is one of the best sites we have visited and we cannot wait to visit the site again. Well done and keep up the good work
Just as good as the other reviews say
Nothing much to add to the other reviews, other than to agree that this is an excellent site. We were especially delighted with the peace and quiet and the size of each pitch.
If you are able to walk the half mile or so to the A596 there is a regular bus service to Carlisle and the coast, with two buses an hour.
Nearest pub is the Royal Oak in Curthwaite, (a mile or two away), which does a wide variety of food at lunchtime and evening and sells a selection of real ales.
Still our fave!
We have been to Crofton several times and are always happy to be there. Claire is just a pleasure to see and deal with and always makes us feel so welcome. The upkeep of the site is faultless and the improvements are excellent. It's great to see a CL site that is so child friendly! We are already booked up to go back with friends and will probably always be regulars! I've given 4 stars to the access to places of interest but only because there isn't too much within a short walking distance, but there's loads to get to by car. It's also a lovely site for stargazing on a clear night! A+

Soo Quiet
Stayed 10 nights whilst visiting family.Close to Carlisle and yet just far enough away.Pitches are huge and well protected from wind via a large old wall that surrounds most of the site. Its the best CL I have stayed-on and so quiet at night.Well priced and ideal if you want to walk your dog. There is a small Chocolate unit next to the toilet facilities for a special treat. The cheese farm is also handy for a taster.I am already planning our next visit; its just a pity we live 400 miles away or else we would use more.Claire who runs the site is super friendly and the perfect host.I just hope the site doesnt get over-booked But I expect it might.
very quiet and frendly
claire was there every night and had a very frendly aproach never been here and my family and freinds loved it very quiet and loads of room for kids to let off steam and a little more than i usually pay per night but when you get there its worth a wee bit extra would defantly be going back for a second visit keep up the good work
