What a find!!! Superb CL

We recently stayed here enroute to the North Ledaig site. What a good pick. The site is very well set out, well maintained and in my opinion excellent value for money. The owners are very friendly, helpful people, I did not have any problem paying a deposit, why would I? It comes off the price, if you don't intend honouring your booking, don't book, simple as. The site is located in an easy to reach location well appointed for many attractions, the Falkirk wheel was especially interesting, unfortunately the Bannockburn Heritage Centre is undergoing refurbishment and only a hut is open. as mentioned in another review, another toilet/shower facility would be useful, I mentioned this to the owner, he told me he has plans to create one by utilizing the current information room, as the building by the entrance will be the sit(e office and reception.and will house the info centre,(not another toilet block) There were lads of swallows swooping around, eating all the midges, we even had an owl perched on a tree next to our van. TV reception is OK if you need it, but you may struggle a bit with a mobile phone signal, which is a bonus for me as I could be left in peace. We think this site is a little gem and hopefully we will return in the future.

Overnight stay on a stormy night

I note that someone complained about having to pay a deposit. Why? Anyway, the site was great, although the wind and rain did not help! But I suppose the owners couldn't do anything about that because of it's direction. I see they're building what looks like a new shower/toilet block by the gate. Apologies if that's wrong, as there's only one unisex toilet and one unisex shower at the moment, but the facilities were spotless and the welcome from the owners, and their little border terrier, was excellent. Thank you for making my stopover great. I visited many local attractions in the short time I was there and the road up to the Highlands from there was astounding (Rannoch Moor).

lovely cl site

We tend mainly to use cl sites for preference and this one did not fail to impress us, total peace and quiet, with overall good facilities for a cl, The only thing spoiling the visit was, we were asked to pay a substantial deposit on booking, something we have never been asked to do with a caravan club site before, especially since we did not receive any conformation that the deposit had been received.

Unfair

Although a lovely CL our holiday was wasted. On leaving the dogs in the caravan for 2 hours due to them barking we were asked not to leave them alone again. It would not of been as bad if they were treating everyone fairly as there was no mention to other dog owners on site who were letting their dogs run freely.

fantastic CL

A very well laid out and organised CL site! Good sized hardstanding pitches, spotlessly clean toilet/shower facilities and a well stocked information room with plenty of leaflets for local attractions and a selection of books available for reading material. Although no dog walk area on site, there is a wooded area opposite where the dog can be walked (a bit rough underfoot and appropriate footwear is required) but excellent trails are available at Carron valley reserviour or Plean country park where dogs can enjoy time off lead for some exercise with both being a short distance from the CL. The location of this site is excellent with good access to local attractions and centrally located for Falkirk, Stirling, Edinburgh or Glasgow. This CL site is a real gem and ticks all the boxes!

Our first caraven club holiday!

We had never been to a caravan club CL before as a family although I had visited many as a child with my parents! When we arrived the organisation was fantastic and we settled in for a very wet but really enjoyable stay!! We have fond memories of our stay and we will definitely be returning as we didn't have enough time to see and do everything!! Each pitch is a hard standing but you can still use an awning, the toilet and shower were spotless and very pleasant, the information room is great too. the site is sheltered and really well maintained and everyone we met was cheerful and friendly. Well done to Grant and his family and we are looking forward to our next visit!!

Our first CL experience!

Having never been to a CL site before I don't think we could have picked a better one! Great lay out and beautiful views. LocalPlacesOfInterest couldn't be better for exploring the surrounding area. Felt very chilled out when we had to leave. We shall certainly return. Keep up the good work folks, you're doing a great job.

one of the best C.Ls in Stirlingshire?

We found this site to be well cared for and clean, with re-cycle bins for glass, paper, tins etc. The information room was a great help in planning our days out. The shower and toilet were kept spotless, with clean towels supplied twice a day,(in wc) and a never ending supply of toilet rolls. Each pitch had hard standing and hook-up well spaced out and very peaceful. Plean Park was five minutes drive away, ideal for exploring and walking the dog. We understand a further toilet and washing up area are to be added over the winter The owners deserve success with this site.
