Second stay and two more booked this year!

We first stayed at Black Barn CL in October 2020 and despite trying couldn't find a convenient vacancy last year. So we made sure we visited this year on the day this smashing CL opened! And we have already booked 2 more visits in May and September. Why should you visit Black Barn CL...? The site itself is well maintained and has everything you'll need. As with many CLs the ground can be a little soft so take it easy on the accelerator pedal to avoid wheel spins as you position your unit. The welcome you'll get from Mollie and Rich is great, they couldn't be more helpful. They run a catering venue next to the CL and the food is delicious, we really enjoyed our pizzas. Framlingham is an easy 10 to 15 minute stroll from the site, as well as the famous castle there's lots to see plus a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants.

Two night stay

Had two nights at this site, wish we could have stayed for longer. Lovely site and friendly hosts. Great walks from the site . Framingham is a nice place to visit. If we are ever in that part of the country again would love to stay again.

Wonderful gem

It’s hard to imagine how this CL could be any better. They have put a great deal of thought into how to make this a great site. It is an easy walk to Framlingham down pavements or via one of the many footpaths across the open countryside. The site itself is very well laid out with beautiful wild flower planting. The views from the picnic tables are stunning particularly at sunset. Add to this the delicious handmade pizzas cooked in the wood fired oven that are available at weekends and you have it all. The welcome is really friendly and we will be revisiting as soon as the warm weather returns

Welcoming host

We stayed here with our friends for two nights. Mollie was an excellent host and very welcoming. The market town of Framingham was within walking distance and well worth visit with its beautiful castle. The site itself was clean, peaceful and spacious and we loved the mowed half circle at the end where we could enjoy an evening drink watching the sun go down. Our dogs had a fab time and made friends with Mollies dog, who was a gentle giant! Unfortunately we were unable to sample the wood fired pizzas, but that has given us a reason to come back!

Perfect little site

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. It is obvious the owners take great care in maintaining the site to a high standard and what a treat to be able to have a beautifully cooked Greek meal delivered to your motorhome! Wonderful! Framlingham has a few interesting shops and is an easy walk from the site. The Crown was particularly good for a relaxing coffee and cake or a meal on the outdoor patio. A great little site. Highly recommended.

Possibly the best CL we have stayed at

We booked a 4 night stay here when we saw the weather for the week what a great site we booked the rest of the week, perfect hosts all facilities on site work well after being on some cl's that are a bit peculiar for waste and water and bins / recycling. Black Barn was just easy to get on with making the daily duties easy and efficient. Great area for dogs just opposite there is a very good dog walk and exercise field, the town of Framlingham is in walking distance with the site owners instructions available from an information area near the water tap. Above all the very nice surprise was wood fired Pizza cooked on site on a Saturday night with gathering of local people dining outside and a menu midweek, can't fault this site and the hosts are a dedicated and hard wor family. We'll be back

One of the gems. Beautiful location, quiet and peaceful. Great hosts with a warm and helpful manner on arrival. Good size pitches and although on grass, ground is quite firm and level. Framingham is just an easy walk away, or a safe cycle ride in a 30 mph area. Charming country village with good range of shops and supermarket. Then there’s the castle, well worth a visit. Steeped in history ranging over many centuries. Recommended 5 stars from us.

Brilliant CL but keep it to yourself!

Like many of us know there are certain reviews you just don’t want to write, and this is one of those. Not because of anything detrimental but just the opposite, having found a fantastic little gem you just want to keep it all to yourself. Black Barn CL falls smack bang into this bracket. Let’s start with Mollie and Richard, the owners, they were really welcoming and provided lots of pre-arrival info as well as making sure we knew where everything was when we got there, both on the site and out and about around Framlingham. A real bonus and a great reason to stay is they have a small pop-up restaurant and on several days of the week Richard, a trained chef, serves up some tempting dishes including Indian, Mexican and pizzas cooked in a wood fired oven. Even the mouth-watering aromas that waft around are very enticing. You can either eat in the neat little garden area, take your meal back to your van or even have it delivered to you. We found the site to be quiet, well laid out and with very clean water and waste facilities. A short walk takes you into the town and up to the castle, which is well worth a scout around. Market days are Tuesday and Saturday and there is some good produce on offer. If you fancy a cycle ride there are lots of quiet lanes you can access from the site and these take you out through some lovely countryside. (OS map or App recommended) A really great site, a must visit, but remember, it’s a secret gem, keep it to yourself.

Delicious Moroccan Meal!

This is a great little site. We were directed to a spot where we had sun all afternoon/evening, but we could choose our pitch. Mollie was extremely helpful and welcoming and equipped us with some good leaflets for walks. Very tidy site, grass regularly cut. Easy walking access to Framlingham and plenty of quiet lanes to cycle. The big attraction for us was the pop up restaurant with a beautiful garden area. We had a delicious Moroccan meal one night and pizza on another. Beautiful! His amazing not to have to think about cooking or looking for somewhere to eat. We did eat in our van as it was quite chilly, but this would be a terrific place to enjoy on a warm summer evening. We don't often return to the same site, but I would wholeheartedly recommend this one and would without doubt stay here again if we were in the area.
