Excellent CL site, well kept friendly owner and great to see areas left for nature. Walk into Framlingham is a paved path, for most a 20 minute walk.
Will definitely visit again.
This little gem was pure pleasure. A delight. Thank you Mollie and family
Quiet, clean and peaceful
A pleasure to listen to the birds
Nice little walk into the small market town of Framlingham
Great communication from the owner. Friendly and helpful.
Definitely added to my favourite list
Friday night pizza night. Outstanding and brilliant value
Last weekend, which was a Bank Holiday, we made our fourth visit to Black Barn CL, we love it!
The welcome you get from Mollie and Rich is great, the site facilities are just what you need. For us a site's location is important. Having Framlingham, a lovely little town, within an easy walk is smashing. Plus there's lots to see and do further afield.
Next to the site is Millie and Rich's outdoor venue which gives the site a real buzz and they serve amazing pizzas!
Highly recommended!
This is a lovely Adult Only CL and Mollie and Richard were the perfect hosts. The CL is in the perfect position for cycling around the amazingly quite lanes in the area and for visiting the lovely town of Framlingham with it's castle and church being well worth a visit. The CL was so peaceful we had the best sleeps for a week that we have ever had in any CL ! Not one dog barking !!! As well as Framlingham itself, the surrounding area has some wonderful pubs with special mention going to The Bell at Cretingham for the best Cromer Crab salad and roast belly pork we've ever had ! On the Friday we were there Mollie and Richard were hosts to their regular 'pop up' pizza restaurant with 2 proper pizza ovens ! The pizza's were delicious and served in a beautiful setting. All in all the perfect week. Thank you so much Mollie and Richard.
Lovely small site just on the edge of Framlingham. An easy walk into town and all the local amenities and tourist attractions, including the impressive castle. Some lovely walks around the site in open coutryside - ask Mollie if you'd like more info or delve into the tourist info box that's available onsite for route ideas and other local attractions to visit.
This is a very clean, well looked after and peaceful site, and Mollie is lovely!
We'll definitely be staying here again! And we'll try for a Friday night so we can enjoy the pizza's which other people on-site were raving about.
We have been looking for a site fairly local to us which we can bolt to on a Friday evening after work and spend a relaxing weekend there knowing we haven’t got a long journey home. We’ve finally found it in Black Barn CL
It ticks all our boxes, an hour from home, food on site( yummy pizza), dog walk for the pooch, walking distance to shops, pubs and a castle to boot in Framlingham! What’s not to like
And Mollie the host was very welcoming and friendly. Facilities are great, EHU, water, grey waste etc
The pitches are plenty big enough. Lovely mown grass and wild areas in between. We will definitely be returning.
Lovely little CL site. Excellent location for viewing all the Suffolk beauty spots. Mollie and Richard were great hosts and the pizzas were excellent. Can't wait to return.
A great welcome from owners. The site is quiet, pretty and good amentities on site (grey waste, chemical toilet, bins, electric). Easy booking. We foolishly missed the pizzas, next time this will be a must. Despite years of camping around East Anglia, we have missed Framlingham and it was a lovely surprise. Many more, well- known places have far less than this have to offer. Walking across fields to the Castle was a highlight. Also, shout out for Toby's pet shop! The Old Mill at Saxstead was doggie friendly and amazing value and a "right plateful!".
This was the first trip out in our new caravan. On arrival we were greeted by a smiling Mollie who advised us about the best pitch for the vehicle and after a couple of schoolboy errors on our part we were settled in. The sun came out so we sat out in our chairs and listened and watched the array of different birds on site, including some swallows, doing some fantastic aerial acrobatics.
We had ordered Pizza from the on-site eatery (goats cheese and rocket) and were not disappointed, they were fantastic. These were eaten in the lovely communal seating area, which can be used by residents of the site plus surrounding area who also come to buy the food on offer. It was delivered straight to our table, from where we watched a wonderful sunset.
The site is close to Framlingham, a mecca for all Dectorirists fans, and the reason for our visit. The walk, or short drive into town allows easy access to many of the programmes favourite spots. There was a market in the square the day we visited (Saturday) so plenty of things to look at and buy
The pitches are large, access to the drinking water, grey waste and disposal are all good and the bins and recycling clearly set out and clean and tidy. There is a road close by, with some traffic noise, it didn't bother us but I know some folks would possibly see this as a negative so thought it best to mention
We could only fit in a 2 night stay but would have liked to have stayed longer. We will definity revisit. Thanks to Mollie and Richard for making our stay so nice
Great CL, very well located for Framlingham and easy reach of the coast, Aldeburgh and Southwold. We liked how the grass was kept wild between the pitches, good local dog walks and a chilled atmosphere. The pizza on the Friday were delicious and well worth booking.
