A very welcoming site

From booking to arriving, the owners of this site have thought of everything. We received very detailed directions and what to expect on site via email before our stay. Upon arrival, the owner gave us an amazingly thorough welcome and run through of the site and the welcome pack. The location was beautiful and peaceful. It is a great base for visiting lots of places of interest. Will definitely stay there again but for longer so we can enjoy all the site has to offer.

Weekend away (no kids)

What can I say?? Our second visit to this fantastic site, we first came in 2014, still a fantastic place to stay, my wife and I were were made to feel more than at home and even had the most secluded pitch we have ever had. Arrived early Friday the 12th April, after pitching we took a walk along the road to Ellesmere for a few drinks and tea, found some fantastic little pubs (all the locals are very friendly) has tea and strolled back to Birch Hill. Saturday we walked across the fields to Ellesmere Lake, what a lovely walk, much nicer than the road. Wondered back and sat in the sunshine, managed to stay out of the cold wind. Will we be going back?? Most certainly, Ian and Janet keep a fantastic site, spotlessly clean well planned and with a lovely pitch hidden away. Keep your eyes open for the fox on treeline a cross the field. Thanks again for such a fantastic site. All the best Paul & Jessica.

Relaxing Easter break

Our first stay here & it won't be our last. Very spacious site & plenty of choice for pitching. Peaceful with beautiful views of open countryside. Nice walk into Ellesmere (approx 15-20mins) - lovely little town with local shops, canal & mere. Bakery & butchers are excellent! Will definitely return 🙂

Another Perfect Week

So you’re looking for a clean, quiet, very well maintained CL with lots of room, easy access, wonderful views and friendly knowledgeable hosts; with very little light pollution so that you can see a million stars in a dark night sky; that enjoys close proximity to many interesting locations of a rich 18th century industrial heritage; with many local eateries offering a range of genre and price; and offers several beautiful local walks to burn off those calories; is close to shops, small and large. That’s what we look for, which is why we keep returning to Birch Hill. Thank you Ian and Janet, another perfect week and you even managed wonderful weather! See you again soon.

Exceptional.

It's alll been said before, so I'll just add my thanks to Ian. Birch Hill is exceptional, just as a CL should be. It helps that the owner in a caravanner and understands members and what they require. I'm sure we will be back for more.

Lovely peaceful CL

Just returned from our first visit to Birch Hill CL. what a wonderful site. So much space. Friendly greeting from Ian, who gave us a welcome folder with all the information we needed. ( also able to download from their website). lovely views and walks from the site. Only a few minutes walk into Ellesmere town and the Mere.( Do go to the bakery for their very tasty local pies and bread and butter pudding!! We also had fresh eggs from the resident hens on the site. !!. This is certainly a CL we will be returning to soon.

Gorgeous CL

Just perfect for a relaxing few days. Owners are incredibly helpful, and provide welcome pack on arrival. Pitches are flat, and well spaced out. Basic facilities, but what more do you need. We have a motor home, and never took it off site for the 3 nights we were there. Ellesmere is a lovely little town with some nice places to eat, and a very nice real ale pub in the Vaults. Walking around the mere and on the canal is lovely. Took us about 20 minutes to walk into Ellesmere. Good area for cycling as well, as fairly flat. Just a little road noise, but I'm a lighyt sleeper and it didn't worry me.

We'll be back.....

Have just spent our first, but, hopefully not our last, long weekend at this lovely site. We received a warm welcome from Ian, plus a useful information pack. The site is very tidy and well kept and the views on a fine day are stunning. The matting on the harstandings works very well so there is no risk of a heavy caravan like ours sinking into mud if the weather is wet. We found the site to be in a convenient spot for visiting our planned locations and would not hesitate to visit again.
