The lure of ehu

Just come off a Rally on an all singing and dancing commercial site.   They did a deal where the ehu was optional @£3 p/n.   28 vans 25 paid for ehu.  We didn’t refilled the gas bottle after we got back and it cost me £4.51, the bottle had been used for 4  nights on a clubsite so ehu and 3 nights non-ehu so 7 nights in total.

No moral to this story just numbers.

And that’s why many don’t or won’t use them. Premium service for customer willing to pay premium prices. Sorry but not for me even at £5!

You say that many don't use CC sites (and presumably other mainstream sites and dearer CLs) and prefer instead £5 a night non EHU basic sites.

Presumably Many do want EHU however which is why the large majority of CLs provide it.

Couldn’t agree with you more Easy. The EHU is wanted by the vast majority of caravanners thank goodness  but all I was saying is there is a sizeable minority that don’t require EHU. I suspect that the increasing use of the solar panel has increased the amount of nights off-grid but not to an extent where it will become anything like mainstream. However, if DD was to explain how far ahead of the game he is, perhaps more would be able to comprehend off grid caravanning?

Perhaps its similar to the 'Warp Core Reactor' technology in Star Treks USS Enterprise.
