Hi everyone,

We wanted you to be the first to know about a new member offer with My Esso Card. The My Esso Card is a fuel card that provides savings at 1,300 Esso fuel stations to help drive down the cost of touring. Members are guaranteed to save on fuel at every Esso station across the UK with the only consumer facing fuel card.

We are the only organisation within the touring industry able to provide this offer to members.

What is the saving?

On average members will typically save 8p per litre on premium diesel or unleaded fuel and 5p per litre on standard diesel or unleaded fuel. That’s a typical saving of £5.60 per tank on premium fuel or £3.50 on standard fuel (based on 70 litre tank of fuel).

The saving varies based on the My Esso Card special rate and the Esso pump price rate. In the unlikely event that the pump price is lower than the My Esso Card special rate members are guaranteed to save 1p per litre on the pump price. You can use the My Esso Card to fill up all your vehicles, not just the one you tour with.

There are no fees to sign up and no transaction or processing fees. You can also earn your Tesco Clubcard points when filling up.

We are also running a competition for members for a chance to win free fuel.

To launch this great new offer, My Esso Card are giving Caravan and Motorhome Club members an exclusive chance to win free fuel. 10 lucky winners will win 175 litres of fuel and another 10 lucky winners 75 litres of fuel!  Members need to register for a card and fill by 31 December 2018 to be entered into the random prize draw.  Winners will automatically have the fuel credit added to their My Esso Card account.

To find out more about this member offer visit My Esso Card Member Offer on the Club website

Still waiting for mine too and i applied at the end of November!

Been receiving the fuel prices for about 4 weeks now.

Well my card did turn up last week on the 10th. Followed instructions to find pin no on my Essocard account. Topped up at my local esso garage next day (10p cheaper than pump price at station) and used card, all ok so far but no transactions showing on my account yet.

Will be keeping a close eye on it in view of the recent problems!

The debit should happen on Wednesday 16th Jan as it takes 7 days.  It is first processed though service station, then the issuer of the Esso card and at that point the instruction sent off to debit your account.  From the time the bank is notified of an pending debit to the actual debit taking place seems to be about 4 days as there is always a weekend or 2 working days to take into account.

BTW I am still waiting for the return phone call so suspect I am not the only one with a threatening email.  Plus others who have been double dipped.  I wonder if they would pay bank charges if they double dipped and caused you to go over drawn?

Some years ago my credit card was debited for a flight to somewhere I've never been to... When I became aware of it, I rang the helpline which is available 24/7.. They cancelled the card.. issued a new one.. sent me a form to sign with the fraudulent activity already on it.. credited the amount.. Perfect and efficient response.

What a difference to myessocard's response... phone back on Monday we are shut for the weekend....

& Yes, I agree with surfer, if your account incurs charges because of essocards error, will they pay for the bank charges ?

I had imagined, that as the club were promoting this "offer" that it would be completely trouble free and could be relied upon..... Ah well... Hindsight as they say, is a very exact science.

I am getting despondent waiting for my card. Although I have received a message two weeks ago, promising the card within a few days, nothing has arrived. Shambolic seems to be the correct word as I am constantly receiving messages telling me how much I could save IF I HAD A CARD!

This doesn't make good reading, I seem to remember a previous fuel card offer, is that still in operation? undecided

We apologise to those members who have not yet received their cards. There has been an incredible response to this offer which has resulted in thousands of cards being issued and as such there has been a delay getting these all sent out to members. The Club is working hard with Pump King to ensure that the backlog is dealt with swiftly and delays are kept to an absolute minimum. Members still waiting for their cards should receive them in the next few days.

that will be the Shell card, another fiasco, was issued on day one as all Shell stations then quickly withdrawn and re-issued for motorway service stations only, i have one but only used it once when travelling to the far north. If you regularly use motorways then a saving of approx 8 pence per ltr is worthwhile

Rowena the "problems" of the timescale for card delivery is,just the start what seems ,for some, just the start of "problems" as noted by the amount of posts so far,I have had my card for a couple of weeks but cannot register the card and have not had any texts to advise of prices although i have got a pin number to use it,Esso have been advised

With all due respect Rowena you and the club have been giving this same apology for days now.

With the double charging and threats by Pump King to surcharge card users for alleged unpaid invoices along with putting matters in the hands of debt collectors this problem has gone way beyond the initial issue of some people having to wait weeks for their cards.

There is something seriously wrong with the administration of the My Esso Card offer.

Perhaps it is time for the Club and Esso to look at temporarily suspending the offer until the whole mess is sorted out. I appreciate that might not go down well with those members who have used the card successfully without problem but to me it looks as if the admin errors are escalating rather than diminishing.

Sorry Rowena, but I have been repeatedly assured that the card will arrive "in a few days" since 10 December. I know you are not personally in charge of sending out the cards but can you say how long "a few days" will be?
