An appeal to Safefill users - and others!

I do not wish this thread to deteriorate into a debate about Safefill Cylinders and the whys and wherefores of various other makes. This is not a promotion of any product.  So please, if you are not a Safefill User, (unless you wish to assist your fellow campers, Motorhomers and caravanners which would be very welcome!) do not comment. This thread is about the effort by the ‘Leisure public’ who use Safefill cylinders to increase the chances of more fill points which can only be a positive move. Morrisons moved to facilitate Safefill after I suggested we all write to them and ask about filling a perfectly legal cylinder. People power does work and it can be a powerful force when applied. Can anyone who uses, or is about to purchase a Safefill, or would like to see fill points open up nearer to them or just simply wants to help their fellow caravanners-  please take 5 minutes to email the following Service Station Groups about filling Safefill cylinders now that the Red Guide has been amended to encompass them and Morrisons have allowed their filling.  You will get the details from the web.  I have only chosen 2 at the moment- more will follow. If we do this as a group, we can change minds as we did with Morrisons. The first is Penny Petroleum which is based in the north of England and has 42 sites I believe. They are on Twitter so that’s another way of contacting them and applying gentle pressure! The second and much larger concern is Euro Garages Group. Please help. Safefill are too small to get out there and visit everyone but they are doing their best I can assure you. Can you please post when you have sent your communication and  any results you receive to the thread Thank you so much . We need those fill points!

For heavens sake, all Merve is trying to do is help fellow members. Why all the agro! There now 11 pages for bitching mostly pulling Merve to bits, WHY!

I have moved onto a forum where the keyboard warriors are knocked back immediately and the forum is very friendly and helpful to its members. There was a time when I spent quite a bit of time on here reading, but not now I only come on to check for any new subjects.

For a supposedly friendly club, it certainly is not!

IBH- thanks for that. It makes it a drudgery to come on here these days I have to say. but I believe it very worthwhile. You would think I had asked for the Queens head on a plate wouldn’t you? What a sad state of affairs when a perfectly good thread is attacked and diminished! Or rather an attack ad hominem! What is their beef?? The best way to fight back is to make contact with these Garage groups and make our point regarding the new techs surrounding refillables. The only one that has been accepted is Safefill- fact! I hope that we are successful as it will benefit a great deal of people. What forum do you go on?

Thanks to Merve I too purchased a Safefill cylinder over 12 months ago. Best thing I have done. Saved a small fortune in re-fill costs and so convenient. I have suffered no problems in re-filling the cylinder so far. I did get refused at a local Shell garage but on showing the attendant the cylinder and explaining it was perfectly legal he allowed me to continue. I think sometimes it is how you approach and respond to people who question what you are doing more than anything. To those who would try and pull this thread apart I would say Wind your neck in. Anything positive done to spread the word about such a cost saving product such as this can only be a good thing and more power to those people who take the time to promote. Carry on the good work Merve.

Thanks Jez- good to know that a Safefill has graced your locker and done you some good! That’s great. Don’t forget to email these Garage groups!

Can I take this opportunity to remind the positive contributors to this thread that if they receive a reply from one or both of these garage groups, please post it to the thread and let us know? As said previously, I have had an encouraging reply from Euro Garages so it is worth the effort we make. Thanks to all for your support.

Great buy Lee- excellent. Don’t forget to email these companies so that others might benefit from being able to fill anywhere. Thanks for the post.
