An appeal to Safefill users - and others!

I do not wish this thread to deteriorate into a debate about Safefill Cylinders and the whys and wherefores of various other makes. This is not a promotion of any product.  So please, if you are not a Safefill User, (unless you wish to assist your fellow campers, Motorhomers and caravanners which would be very welcome!) do not comment. This thread is about the effort by the ‘Leisure public’ who use Safefill cylinders to increase the chances of more fill points which can only be a positive move. Morrisons moved to facilitate Safefill after I suggested we all write to them and ask about filling a perfectly legal cylinder. People power does work and it can be a powerful force when applied. Can anyone who uses, or is about to purchase a Safefill, or would like to see fill points open up nearer to them or just simply wants to help their fellow caravanners-  please take 5 minutes to email the following Service Station Groups about filling Safefill cylinders now that the Red Guide has been amended to encompass them and Morrisons have allowed their filling.  You will get the details from the web.  I have only chosen 2 at the moment- more will follow. If we do this as a group, we can change minds as we did with Morrisons. The first is Penny Petroleum which is based in the north of England and has 42 sites I believe. They are on Twitter so that’s another way of contacting them and applying gentle pressure! The second and much larger concern is Euro Garages Group. Please help. Safefill are too small to get out there and visit everyone but they are doing their best I can assure you. Can you please post when you have sent your communication and  any results you receive to the thread Thank you so much . We need those fill points!

Why don’t you just come out and call me a liar DD? Why don’t you stop speaking tosh and have the courage to ring Safefill. I have never said that the name ‘Safefill’ is mentioned in the Red Guide! That would be ridiculous- it’s you that’s giving out fake news. If it wasn’t true that the Red Guide had been ammended to include  refillables, I think Safefill would have been in court by now! But I can tell you this without any fear of reprisal- IT WAS SAFEFILL THAT MOVED THE GOAL POSTS AND MADE THIS POSSIBLE FOR REFILLABLES! As far as sht 26 is concerned, UKLPG have not issued the ammended St 26. I wonder why when it is made up of staff and execs from Calor and Flo?? mmmm difficult one that.  Now, let’s please try to get more fill points for the members of CAMC and others!

Simples.

I am a struggling woman, trying to do my best ( with a severely disabled husband) who has a refillable gas system on my Motorhome.

ANYTHING that will make my life easier is a plus for me. I don’t care if others think it is a waste of time or money and I don’t give a flying frog 🐸 if someone thinks it is a waste of time or a bad idea.

I say again, it would be lovely to pull into ANY fuel station and get diesel AND gas. Therefore I fully support Merve In this post.

why on earth has this become a debate? What is wrong with you all.

Grow up

It’s such a pity DD that you spend your time and energy trying to deny good people the same facility that you have ie- being able to fill with LPG virtually anywhere! You have tried very hard to derail this perfectly innocent thread and have completely missed the point made so eloquently by Cyber and Artyboo above-  Morrisons have accepted Safefill, and ONLY Safefill. Period! You have also refused to stay off the thread even though I asked for it as it was about getting more fill points- nothing else. We will, whether you like it or not, gain more and more fill points. I just love to see you turning yourself inside out denying the evidence in front of your eyes. You are unlikely to talk to Safefill because you are frightened of the answers you may get and incidentally, I take it you have rung Morrisons to inform them from the depth of your ignorance that they are filling Safefill Cyliders illegally and if not, why not?  As I say, get on with it. You are not worthy of a reply or a reaction. I have no bad feeling towards you but to virtually call me a liar by using fancy words and phrases on a public forum is disgusting. It says more about you than it does me.

Has anyone received any answers to their enquiries please. Thanks

Hi arty, thanks for your comments. Have you sent any emails? We will get those fill points but as ( and I’m not sorry for saying the forbidden word) Safefill say- Rome wasn’t built in a day. Keep the faith.

I think that this topic has been done to death.   So I have no more to say except the following:

I await with interest the VCA’s response to [Deleted User User]s enquiry.  I am sure he will be happy to publish all the correspondence in full

Finally I am sure that DD will be happy to agree with me that UKLPG is a trade organisation not a statutory body.  Therefore the contravention of one of their guidelines, does not neccesarily mean that unlawful activity has taken place and current legislation has been contravened.

For heavens sake, all Merve is trying to do is help fellow members. Why all the agro! There now 11 pages for bitching mostly pulling Merve to bits, WHY!

I have moved onto a forum where the keyboard warriors are knocked back immediately and the forum is very friendly and helpful to its members. There was a time when I spent quite a bit of time on here reading, but not now I only come on to check for any new subjects.

For a supposedly friendly club, it certainly is not!
