PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

This thread is not for discussions. Post ONLY factual information.

To provide a comprehensive list of problems encountered, I would suggest that each post lists only one issue at a time.

Provide details of problem  as concisely as possible.

Operating system, machine used and relevant software. i.e. Macbook/ PC/tablet, Windows XP/ iOS7 etc, Safari/Internet Explorer/Chrome inc version No.

Please do not enter into discussions such as "I've had/not had this problem" as this will detract from the objectivity of the thread. Hopefully this thread may assist the IT department in finding where "all the bodies are buried".

PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING.

I originated this thread almost two years ago now and still we are beset by problems with the website. It is abundantly clear that the expertise to sort things out is non-existent. Why is management not addressing this?

not at all.

Perhaps that's what's going to happen....they'll just close down CT altogether, whatever Ro might say.

I had actually thought that too. It does not sometimes paint a true picture of what happens on an actual site, not a good advert for the club?

Assuming it isn't then:

they don't want to?

they don't need to?

Corners, I think "they" do need to present the club in an attractive way and as the club ethos promotes social interaction if we're going to have a CT forum it should be a good one. At present much of it isn't functioning well at all.

yes agreefully, but why is this present state still going on? Is it a week now?

The club site hasn't been right since it's inception almost 2 years ago, hence this thread!

The latest issue about this forum maybe has been going for a week but others ie avatars have been almost 12 months as brue's squashes remind us daily  - if and when they appear along with other other avatars we know exist!

This forum aside finding things on the club website is a joke.

  • No decent general search facility
  • The inability of searching for meets and rallies in a format for say dates no centres
  • CL site search facilities

I could go on but have lost the will to give it too much thought. IF and it's a BIG IF the club want to attract younger members, families etc and even those who are 10 or so years from retirement, they need to have decent IT as it's generally the way we all look for info these days be it a website or App. If you know what you want but can't find it easily whilst searching various websites/App you move onto another that is easy and intuitive to use. This site falls well outside this and could well be the difference in increasing membership but less booked nights for example. Who knows? Does anyone within the management care? Who knows?

I'm in total agreement B2, all parts of the web site need to be attractive and easy to use. Some of us have been using CT for a long time and we've learnt some complicated work arounds but people looking in won't have the time or inclination and it needs a big input from IT to improve the overall web site situation. The search engine should be high on the list.
