An open letter to the Community Manager - reviews

Dear Rowena,

I think the time has come to press you on the issue of comments made on reviews. I know you are very busy but the situation is becoming rather discordant and inconsistent.

You have posted some information concerning the content of reviews recently but I can see nothing from you regarding the posting of comments. David Klyne, in the thread titled Reviews, posted some words on the subject on 04.08.19 and my post (pictured below) seeking further information was also reported to you in an effort to establish clarification. Unfortunately, I’ve not seen a response from any source.

Yesterday (10.08.19), a new review appeared which was clearly in breach of the Community Guidelines and several of us commented explaining how the Guidelines answered the poster's question. Seemingly legitimate responses were subsequently Deleted User fairly quickly yet the review remained until early afternoon today when it was quite rightly removed. Can you imagine the confusion this caused?

I have no intention of querying moderation here but, obviously, different people have different views on what is acceptable and what is not and it is that very difference and lack of guidance relating to comments which is causing a less than standardised approach.

Therefore, may I please ask for a definitive clarification of what is, or is not, permitted in comments on reviews to be included in the Guidelines? We, as posters, need to know what is acceptable to yourself and the moderators so that we can all sing from the same song sheet.

Regards.

TW

It is amazing to me how many on here take being treated without decency and possible bullying so lightly and make jokes of it?undecided

I was replying to your point, it was Fred afterall.

Where? I dont see it.

All it says is dont be offensive.

"I thought the Warden misread a situation, and their manner towards myself was not upto the standard I would expect from a CMC site xxxxx, this cannot be the first occasion this warden has acted this way, I felt my stay compromised"

Cant see anything wrong with that ficticous account,  complies even if I named a specific site

But then if your "fictional "report was so then it would have been on a "review"beforewink

it is a complaint, maybe unfounded,  (possibly warden told some one off about their dog weeing outside the office), and emotive and certainly the part about the first occasion is certainly speculation has no place in a factual complaint and the warden has no right of reply.

It is very simply against the rules, agree or not you have to keep to them.

But I suspect you know all thatundecided

PS it wasn't me about mentioning Fred first, look it up.

Which is the very point.

A review in 2018 of a site may change in 2019 by the introduction of new Wardens, for better or worse.

Doesnt the membership have (Corners) are right to know?

I point again to the CMC Warden recruitment page.

That example, of dog fouling, mine never did, would only toilet on grass, funny little girl she was, but anyway, it is worthy of a review.

"Warden thinks a solution to dog odour is not to perform cleaning duty, but berate, not my word, every customer with a dog upon arrival, dog owners should avoid this site."

See.

God I'm good😁

Work calls, enjoy.

A CV these days it seems ,can contain a lot of idealistic information that will need an extremely proactive HR dept, to sort out the "real"person that is suitable for the job that involves so many different aspects  it seems , that a site warden needs to deal with, which can only be found if suitable by on job(sites) I have seen three pages of fullscap paper with a list of what has been requested to be done by wardens by members when staying on sites

I've been here on ct since it's inception in 2012. Some will remember how "lively" it used to be back then? Times change and the advance of the keyboard warrior is relentless. Personally I'm one of the thick skinned types and you won't offend me or wind me up no matter what. That's life on an open forum. Reviews however are different and there are some staff members reading them who may not be as savvy when online. (I'm being polite). There's really no need to get personal when writing a review, if you've something to get off your chest then follow procedure and write a formal complaint.

It's obvious here that some posters, either writing a review or on this forum really don't understand the meaning of cyber bullying.

I'll also agree with a comment by peedee above, why the need for a comment button anyway?

JK you mentioned procedure.  Does CC Ltd have a formal written complaints procedure?
