I can't see the original sticky so will start a new thread.  Saw nearly 30,000 knot on Breydon Water yesterday.  Great weekend at Minsmere, Otter, Kingfishers, Bitterns, lots of Marsh Harriers

Our single Parakeet is still around, being very vocal in the park, he/she needs a mate now.

OH picked one of these egg cases up on the beach today. Have never bothered to think what they are so extended my limited wildlife knowledge and discovered they are whelk egg cases. smile

Stood watching 2 red kites sky dancing when suddenly a hen harrier flew between calling furiously.  Best spot at Sculthorpe was Water Rail

Spring was definitely in the air at Slimbridge today as the drakes pursued the females all around the pools.

Shoveler and Tufted ducks in abundance along with flocks of Pintail,Teal and Wigeon.

However some got more exercise than they expected when a Peregrine  came calling. Pic is very distant so not sure what its target was in the bottom right of the heavily cropped pic. The attack failed by the way.

Great pics BM, you don't often get to catch a Peregrine in flight.smile

Thanks Neveramsure.

Passing the severn bridge today, so decided to take a spculative visit to Aust Warth where the recent snow has sent up to 7 Short Eared Owl back as the Warth never really freezes or retains snow, so always food available.

Not expecting much as it was drizzling but had a great surprise as there were 4 Owls and 2 Kestrel hunting.

The pic with 3 birds shows the owl to the right with a vole while the Kestrel and second owl try to steal.

Needless to say didn't get much further.

There’s been a Snowy Owl in Norfolk this week, reported it was at Burnham Deepdale at 6pm tonight so know where I’ll be tomorrow, fingers crossed🦉

I need to make more of an effort to find locations where I can spot more birds to snap.undecided
