Just back from a brisk evening walk when this suddenly appeared. Lots of folk out trying to catch that elusive photo with their fancy kit, took this on my old iPhone. You can see the blade of the plough, wish I’d caught the whole constellation in the frame.

Lovely photos of last night. We had to have a 5 minute break in rehearsal last night so the folk could go and have a look at the 'northern lights'. 🙂 Mind you, practice last night was also a bit more unusual, as I got them all playing kazoos.... 🤣🤣🤣

Posted on 10/10/2024 21:25 by nelliethehookerA fine calm sunny day after the wind and rain of yesterday. OH did another roundabout washing today and it was dry by mid afternoon. Drove through to Hawick for a wander around, filling up with diesel at Morrison's where it was 130.7 per litre, the cheapest we have seen at a supermarket in a long while.

In case anyone is interested, try the AuroraWatch App. Free to download, gives you a ping when it might be visible. Readings were very high last night. You do need a clear sky of course. Even if you cannot see it with the naked eye, try using an IPhone (or similar) on night set photos. Low light pollution is obviously better as well, but not essential.
